So its the opposite of AVB. A 3yr old could have come up with that list.
Goal.com really are a waste of the internet.

Archer, Rose, Dawson, Walker, Naughton, Fryers, Smith, Lennon, Townsend, Livermore, Carroll & Defoe, which of these British does Tim want to build around.....?

Carroll aside most of them seem brain dead when it comes to technical play/tactics.

The core should be LLoris, Vert, Vlad, Sandro, Eriksen & Lamela with the rest built around them.....

Tbh Ade & Benny can go fuck themselves. No time for these wasters as likeable as Benny is on social media....

The article is obviously rubbish. But he probably will do some of that and it probably will help.

I just hope we see the best of Lamela soon and he doesn't sit on the bench so Lennon and Townsend can play.

Think he's trying to turn around the opinion of home fans with this. Feel like the teams struggling with the high expectation. Whole thing smells like PR.

Oh wait, it's goal.com nevermind

If you believe the British core stuff why would Levy only 4 months ago spend over £100 million on 7 foreign players?

People can say what they like about Levy's running of the club, hiring & firing etc but economically he's no fool, he's not going to spend that sort of money on foreign players and then demand a British core especially when the top teams barring a struggling UTD have anything but a British core.

we dont have the money to buy the very best foreign talent and seem to have a few turkeys although that could change given time. we already have a british core but i think if we can get better we should before looking to buy foriegn first. maybe there will be a change on that policy although i am not adverse to us looking at italian defenders which i thought we might be getting when baldini came in.

Is that a plan for disaster? Seriously, English core? Let's bring back pirouette Parker!

1. Yes, recall BAE (and Carroll) as well as bringing Adebayor back into the fold.
2. Remove the shackles on the players and give them the freedom to express themselves a bit more.
3. Adapt the defensive line to the players available. (i.e. don't play it when Dawson & Capoue are at the back)
4. Get shut of Naughton and give Smith & Fredericks a chance as Walker cover. No more of him at LB with Benny recalled.
5. Look for a CB so Dawson is kept as far away from the first team as possible.
6. Look to bring in a bit of experience, perhaps someone who's been there and done it at the highest level like Davids or Van der Vaart. This will be difficult however.

WTF is "let the wingers of the leash" supposed to mean? I can only assumes it means dumping inverted wingers and having Townsend left and Lennon right but I could be wrong. English core... So what, does that mean we are going to sell or bench half our foreign talent? I'm assuming this article is nonsense... At least I hope it is.

Tim Sherwood has a six point plan at Spurs. It is as follows...

1. Recall Adebayor and Assou-Ekotto Then make Adebayor dance while Benny claps like a seal and puts £1 coins in his g string..
2. Build a British hardcore porn factory.
3. Leave the wingers off the team sheet.
4. Ditch the slow defenders
5. Buy two strikers that can play together as a Plan B
6. Play a game of bongos on Levy's head.

Any thoughts on this? Would you be happy if this was the way forward?
Edited. And yes i would be happy with some points of this (edited) plan...

As for the actual unedited plan...

No.

Sherwood just reminds me of when we were shit.
Sad looking back but Tim was actually a big improvement on our squad at the time...

I remeber when he was bought into the England team as he was doing (relatively) well for us (although Ledley was making everyone in midfield look better at the time due to his sheer class)
And the then England manager (can't remember which) decided to play the highly mobile/agile Sherwood at Left midfield. Where (unsurprisingly) he was shit, and the press in their infinite wisdom panned Sherwood.

Weren't Dawson, King, Defoe, Huddlestone, Bale, Crouch and Lennon in our CL qualifying team?

If we can get Bale back and find a time machine for Ledley then we're set (y)

Some players are good enough to be vital first teamers, some are good enough to be squad players, and some aren't good enough full stop. Their nationality is largely irrelevant.

Not so much him...although he was very ordinary, just the time he played for us wasn't great was it, so he kind of reminds me of those dull days when we were always around 12th,zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Don't mean now. I mean sign someone of his experience now. We need an influential figure in the team that others can look up to.
Hey wait a minute Davids is small isnt he?
How about this man

I think Sherwood's 6 point plan should be this:

1/ Win the next two league games
2/ Hand over to a proper manager

Apologies if this has already been posted or if it needs to be merged with another thread.

According to Goal.com (http://www.goal.com/en-gb/slideshow...to-a-british-core-sherwoods-six-point-plan-at) Tim Sherwood has a six point plan at Spurs. It is as follows...

1. Recall Adebayor and Assou-Ekotto
2. Build a British core
3. Let the wingers of the leash
4. Ditch the high line
5. Try two strikers as a Plan B
6. Play Levy's game

Any thoughts on this? Would you be happy if this was the way forward?

So in other words do everything that AVB wasn't doing, and what Redknapp did.

British core? Does this mean it'll be Dawson and Defoe all the time? I don't think that'll go down too well. Also, there aren't really any good British options out there that aren't ridiculously overpriced or will be poached by the big boys.

"Play Levy's game" is a funny one though. Pressing the right buttons already it seems.
