Does it seem cheap to you considering the other lad went to inter for 15?

Yes, and I don't believe they'd sell both for 20m euros.

I don't see they logic in selling now (when they don't have to), unless it was for an insane amount (which, I know, is all relative).

Having said that, everyone thought that they'd wait until Kovacic reached at least Modric's price, but they didn't. So who knows.

If this is a reality will these two plus Villa and Pauly round up our summer transfer window, it would already be around 45mil... Thoughts? I would love these two but would worry about not brining in a creative left winger to start as well as a young forward if we loose one/both of Defoe or Ade. Left back wouldn't go amiss ether but I guess we have two at the moment. Sales will be expect but even so...

The do seem to have a never ending conveyor belt of talent over there.

Kovacic went for 10m euros was it? i would imagine a similar price for Halalovic and slightly less for Jedvaj

I'd take them 4 incomings.. In two/three seasons we would potentially have two world class players emerging. I feel Halilovic could have an impact this season.

Dinamo reported it as 15m euros, Italian sources as 11m + 4m in bonuses.

Guess I'll buy "Sportske Novosti" tomorrow. Hope that it won't be article where they quote other sources.

Ok, got a chance to look at the paper.

All speculation.

Apparently an English reporter phoned the Croatian one and asked if there was any truth that Jedvaj and Halilovic were off to Spurs for 20m euros.

The said (Croatian) journalist went and asked Dinamo's sporting director (Zoran Mamic) about it.

- First and foremost. No official offer has been received by the club. At this moment we don't have anything to hide, there haven't been any official bids for any of our players.

The reporter pressed by saying, ok, but can you at least acknowledge if there is interest from Spurs for a "Jedvaj-Halilovic" package deal:

- There is interest. However, it's not from only one club. For our players, and I'm not exaggerating, there is interest from all of the top clubs in Europe. Whoever you wish to write, you can't go wrong.

About if the players would be allowed to leave:

- Every player can go or can stay. Who knows what will happen until the end of the transfer window. Look, just today I received calls from Turkey (site of the U20 World Cup). I won't name the clubs, but they want to buy Simunovic (CB, the guy I mentioned in this thread as Jedvaj's replacement in Dinamo) and Gorupec (right back)!

That's basically it.

I really havent been following the Croatian League this season as I used to but going by the u20 games so far these two (Simunovic and Gorupec) are really great prospects. For me so far the only players worth mentioning, Rebic and Livaja etc really disappointed me so far.

I dont know how good Jedvaj really is, but seeing how good Simunovic is he has to be great. Dinamo seems to have on of the best generations since Modric, Eduardo, Corluka etc and I think they wont miss any player they sell right now. That said I think for some of the players it would still be too early to move abroad, at Dinamo they have time to develop even more as I dont think any of them has already reached to max possible for that league.

Especially Halilovic, as great a talent as he is, I cant see him yet having a direct impact for any top team.

The first thing he does in that clip is tackle someone, so not David Ginola ;)

:D The style of running, long hair/sleeves and curling shots from the edge of the box made me think of Daveed.

Just being cheeky. The first time I ever went to see Spurs play was away to Blackburn when Gross was in charge (we won 3-0) and I remember Daveed winning the ball close to the edge of our box and playing an sublime ball to the half way line for Ruel Fox to run onto (who went on to score), so despite his rep he did win the ball sometimes.

Brand new Halilovic comp:

Alen Halilović Season 12/13 by Sportinfo

That's the first I've seen of this kid & it really is easy to see where the 'Modric clone' stuff comes from. He receives the ball & does the same 'drop of the shoulder & instant shift inside', everyone knows it's coming BUT can do fuck all about it :) , instantly opens up 10+ yards of space for himself. Bloody good eye for a pass, too. I now understand why there's such interest in him & I wonder what chance we'd realistically have of acquiring his signature?

Dinpomp, how exactly is it that Croatia keeps managing to produce such amazing football talents from such a small population? What is their structure like for grass-roots, etc and development for young players at clubs?

I wonder if we could get them both for just north of 20m if we promised a good enough % of their future sale to Dinamo.

Seems like a win/win to me.

Out of curiosity, since you seem to know a bit about football in Hrvetska; so you don't think Rebic hasn't lived up to his hype recently?
I haven't seen Gorupec but read he's a LB (or left footer).
So you reckon Jozo Simunovic is as huge a talent as Tin Jedvaj? What's the main difference between them you think?
