I know hes young and you shouldnt judge too much but in all the games ive seen him play he just seems to frustrate me. He always wants the ball which is great but 90% of the time he gets the ball and passes it sidewards.

There was a few times tonight where he could have run with the ball only to pass it to the closest possible player.

Im sure he'll learn and come good in time.

I thought he had a poor game last night but Livermore had shocker, i really don't think Livermore is up to the level he needs to be yet, with either Sandro or Parker or even Hudd next to him last night i think we would have seen a better performance from Carroll.

It takes two to make a partnership - and Livermore and Carroll didn't work last night (in fact not sure I'vs seen it work). Livermore is meant to be the industrious one and Carroll the creative one with the touch. But to me Livermore offers nothing, and do not think he is as good a prospect as O'Hara was (and I was never a fan if his). Carroll has more potential but that's all it is - he has a long way to go and a lot to learn. These experiences, whether good or bad, can only help him in the long term.

I'm also struggling to see Livermore's strengths are, he can't pass that well, his positional sense and tackling mean he's not a DM, he's not creative and he doesn't really do the box to box thing nor is he particularly offensive. He kinda reminds me of a poor mans JJ.

I only saw the second half yesterday but I honestly wonder whether I watch the same game as some of the people on here.

For me Livermore looks more and more accomplished every game and Carrol seems to have the making of a very good player. Also I am not one of these Spurs fans who every time someone does one piece of skill they proclaim them an all time world beater but ignores the fact they give the ball away 9 times out of 10.

In the 2nd half which I saw every time Piennar got the whole ball he gave it away, and maybe he is coming back from injury but his first touch was shocking and was pretty much in-effective. This is a seasoned Premier League and International player. From where I was sitting both Livermore and Carrol looked more comfortable on the ball. Livermore also swicthed to Centre Half and looked just as comfortable playing alongside Bassong which is saying something.

Also dont forget Rubin Kazan did the double over Barcelona a few years back.

Livermore was a beast yesterday, head and shoulders above the rest and looked better than Bassong in defence!!

I saw Carroll "do a Jenas" a few times which worried me. This is running into space but putting a man between himself and the player with the ball. Looks like he wants it but there is no way the ball can get to him.

Saying that he should look better with better players around him. The difference in movement and pace between the team v QPR and yesterday is remarkable.

Apparently not.

Barca had a bad day, they went on to win the CL that year, so i wouldn't put too much emphasis on Rubin because of that one game.

Overall we played crap yesterday and Livermore, regardless of how much he's usually rated by anyone, had a complete shocker, he gave the ball away a lot.

I also think Livermore had quite a good game. He worked hard and covered a lot of ground covering for other players and then looked very assured at centre back. Yes he made some sloppy passes but everyone did and his were attepted forward passes, At least he tried to go forward and force the issue a bit.

Surely this highlights how hard a place it is to get a result.

By the way loving the Gomes banner on the bottom of your posts. Our third choice keeper with a No1 next to his name:clap:

1.) The game was played at the Nou Camp so i have no idea how that impacts on how hard it is to play Rubin at home, two seasons later.

2.) I haven't had time to change my sig, when i get a minute i might put Sandro on there, or something different, but Gomes' shirt number at spurs is still 1. - http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/players/player_profiles.html

Barcelon have played them away from home twice in the last few years and didnt win either game.

Instead of wasting your minutes un fairly slagging off our youngsters spend it wisely changing your sig.

Carroll is neat and tidy the only slight criticism I think he needs to be more daring with his passing..and shouldn't be scared to do so.....otherwise he could need up like Carrick/Samways.

Why the obsession with his sig? Last time I looked Gomes had the No.1 squad number.

He can do what he wants with his sig

Just thought it was funny him slagging off youngsters in games they played ok in, yet he seems to be a massive fan of Gomes who is now our 3rd choice and in my opinion a liability in most games he plays for us

Carrol has got the potential to be a top player without a doubt. Time will tell but I for one think he will make it. He may develop into the new Ossie!

Why am i a massive fan of Gomes??? As it happens i'm not, but at the time i made the sig he was the only Brazilian Spurs player in our team, PLUS HIS SQUAD NUMBER IS STILL 1. :bang:

Seriously if you had a brain you'd be dangerous, or at least maybe not have a little red rep square under your username.

Finally i'm not slagging off anyone. I'm making what i believe is a fair assessment of our younger players. If you can point me to any slagging off that i've done then please do, otherwise shut it and jog on son.
