Stoke have great home form (8 wins this season) so I can't see Newcastle winning there. Pretty confident they'll beat Boro, but Pompey? I doubt it.

They look dire and they've now got Taylor and Bassong on the injury list.

Owen has deferred his contract negotiations until their status is secure.

If you had been watching them recently you would realise that they are dog shite and really look like they could go down. That run in looks very tough, and Stoke just seem to keep on picking up points. That will be a pretty huge game between the two. Myself, like others on here cant stand Newcastle. I hope we smash them at the lane, its long overdue.

Fair enough gents, I'll take your word on it

As said, I haven't been watching them of late. I guessing that their defence is still shakey, but what about their midfield, which is usually half decent?

Also, with Owen out, I take it they haven't been scoring much?

I'd be surprised if they get more than 6 points.. I want them to go down cos they just bloody annoy me, and we hardly ever get any points up at their place anyway, so get rid of them.. I think that both Boro and Newcastle will go down, with West Brom.. I tell you what tho, its gonna be one hell of a run in this season, with us aiming now for Europe (7th) and those 3 at the bottom, Man Utd and Liverpool at the top, and teams like Blackburn and Sunderland having a squeeky bum time.

I despise Newcastle but I love Chris. I hope he will quickly find another job if they go down.

Seconded.

I hope whatever happens Chris Hughton comes out unscathed - a true Spur and a gentleman. Despite the critics, Calderwood and Kinnear were ex-Spurs as well.

They will not beat 'Boro...that's a slam-dunk Southgate result day.
Stoke? they're the sort of side who could skeeze a win over Stoke...as much as I would laugh at them going down, I think they're going to dodge it by one point, in fact, it could well be Sunderland who are the big surprises, though to be fair I haven't seen their run-in...

would be my non-spurs highlight of the season if toon get relegated

Screw that! It'll make my year if they go down! I've been wishing it on them ever since they spent someone elses money to turn them from the has beens they were. Same is true of Boro too, though they've been less successful, so seeing Boro and the barcodes go down in the same season would be justice. Hopefully it'll catch up with Man C and Chelsea.

Rumous are circulating saying that if they lose their next 3 games Ashley is going to take them into administration.

They are so horribly boring. And they always seem to win us lately (trashed us 4-1 last season at the Lane).

I hope the go down and never ever come back up again.

As long as we beat Blackburn I'll be able to sit back and really enjoy this relegation battle. The potential for hilarity is immense. Loads of games between strugglers and if things don't go Newcastle's way in the next couple of weeks they will be in massive, massive trouble. The next couple of games are:

Newcastle: H v Chelsea, A v Stoke
Middlesboro: A v Bolton, H v Hull
Blackburn: H v Spurs, A v Liverpool
Stoke: A v West Brom, H v Newcastle
Portsmouth: A v Hull, H v West Brom
Sunderland: A v West Ham, H v Man U
Hull: H v Portsmouth, A v Middlesboro
Bolton: H v Middlesboro, A v Chelsea

If we go with all "big four" games being losses, all home games being wins except West Brom v Stoke (which is eminently possible - I'd back Stoke to win that)

Stoke 38
Bolton 37
Hull 36
Portsmouth 35 (with a game in hand)
Blackburn 34
Sunderland 32
Middlesboro 30
Newcastle 29
West Brom 24

That looks very scary for them. Their next game will be, of course, at the Lane.

I read somewhere that mike ashley's a yiddo on the sly!!?
The Wigan chairman said he is a Spurs fan as well the other day, he had to previously deny it in an interview by saying "he hates Spurs" It wouldn't surprise me if Ashley is telling porkie pies though.

As for Newcastle I think they'll finish on 41 points which may be enough. Rumours have it that Chris Hughton has lost the dressing room though.

Seems most of the Toon fans are quite happy to blame Ashley for the situation they're in, they conviently forget he has already wiped 180 million pounds of their debt, but getting in Keegan then Wise was his biggest mistake. Should have stuck with long ball Allardyce
