Shearer is no Messiah. He'll give them some lift for the next few games, but they are still in dire trouble. I'm not sure he's enough. Anyway, its only until the end of the season so Alan knows where his bed is made (BBC).

Any new manager is enough to lift the team and give them a good run of form. Especially someone who is well known and respected amongst the fans and players.
Yeah but their next game is Chelsea, who will still be smarting from being taught a footballing lesson at the Lane.
Then they have Stoke away, who have won 8 games at home this season and then they come to the fortress, by which time the Shearer effect will have worn off.

Seriously I fucking hate the barcodes... Why is everyone so excited about alan shearer? he has no experience at managing and has such an unbalanced squad its unreal there... I hope they go down...
You got to laugh at Newcastle, their in the shit and needed a manager with experiance and a proven track record to get them out of it, someone like Venables who they were linked with a couple of weeks ago.
Instead what do they do! They go ahead and appoint the "messiah" Alan Shearer, a great player, but with absolutly no managerial or even coaching experiance.
Would really enjoy seeing the so called worlds biggest club with the worlds self appointed best supporters go down.
