With the Premier League being the commercial juggernought that it is, I cant see anyway that UEFA would dock England a place, im sure they would rather expand the competition before losing an English team.

I think UEFA would love to put a dent in the power of the PL.

Don't be ridiculous. How would the rich teams continue to become even richer?
Quite. Silly me. I forgot, it's the final annual accounts that matter these days. Christ, what must it be like for a teen fan now who has grown up with nothing else. The amount of masters thesis level analysis of fucking accounts and finances I've seen on various teams' forums in the last 10 yrs or so.

Grim.

Don't despair just yet. Son is a great player with a beaming smile. He'll win over the fans because he actually seems to enjoy playing football.

Yes, I like the cut of his jib so far. Until his very first heavy touch, which doesn't even result in us losing possession. When that happens, he can fuck all the way off!

Italy didn't add any betterness into their Uefa calculation tonight either though.

Apparently we're already roughly one output/coefficient point ahead of them for this season, with, potentially, bonus points from getting 4 teams into the CL last 16, whereas they can only get 2 into it now. (No bonuses for Europa last 16.)

And they'd need to finish roughly one magic point ahead of us for the season to overtake us overall.

Even if Bayer Leverkusen just beat Roma at home next month to go five points ahead of them in Group E, things start to look a little messed up for Italy.

There's many more points to be had, so it's pretty pointless discussing it on a round-for-round basis. At the moment Norway and Liechtenstein has gained 1,5 points on England...

I get the fact we should want English teams to perform well to protect our extra birth

BUt it's just too damn funny seeing the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea flop in Europe

Not quite the full Spurs monty there TT . You forgot to mention that yes we'll get 4th in the year England lose the place..

.....but that will be the only year England is down to 3 CL places.. Now that's proper Spursy .

Newcastle qualified in 2002 I think after losing the first 2 games, still can be done, just going to be very hard. They could do with the other teams drawing against each other twice.

If the co-efficient can be stretched with Arsenal and Chelsea both being dumped out that would be beautiful.

Although it seems certain that the year we do finish 4th, the Uzbekistani league will buy an extra place from the Premier League or something.

Uefa get their money from CL and Europa. The english pay the most for the tv rights and english clubs generate the most interest around the world. If we lose a cl place the money generated will drop significantly.

The simple answer to this is that English teams need to beat Italian teams when drawn against each other. Over to you City oh u mm. .......
