I woke this morning feeling strange. Was i hungry? hungover? no. I feel strange as i am no longer a top tier football fan. After 30 years i have given up. The last 12months have been a big wake up call to me, i have finally realised that money and greed has savaged the beautiful game at the highest level.

Now i love football, i love Spurs. I manage my own Sunday league football team and believe that nothing beats grass roots football. Players giving their all, for the team and themselves, purely because they love football. Players walking long distances to get to games, taking shifts off work to get to games, risking the wrath of the wife to get to games. My point? well my point is that top tier football has nothing, nothing but greed. Whether its media involved fuelled by huge profits = greed. Or clubs tapping up or poaching players = greed. Or players forcing moves for higher salaries = greed. Or clubs ( like Spurs ) bending over and taking all this if they get money in return = greed.

I am not just talking about spurs, i am talking about all top level football. The recent events such as "the slave" ronaldo, robiniho to city, berba, keano, Frank Arn*s*n to chelsea have all finally topped me.

I will always follow spurs, i love Spurs, but they are now ( like it or not ) a part of the problem. And i only see this getting worse.

I am so pleased "sir" Bill is not here to witness the death of football.
