Just to to put this into context. Rovers result lastnight against Partizan was as big a result as Ireland beating Italy in Giants Stadium in the 94 world cup.

I've been a Spurs fan all my life, I've been a Rovers fan all my life.

Have to admit that I'll be supporting Rovers for this one and I do so with absolutely no regrets. Reason being that Rovers are unlikely to get anything against Spurs home or away but will go and hopefully give a good account of themselves. In a way it goes beyond football, this is the biggest thing to ever happen to Irish League football.

That's completely fair really. It's not as if it's every day your two favourite teams get to play each other.

One question though...leaving aside the games between Spurs and Rovers (where you'll obviously be supporting Rovers), where would you stand if Spurs needed Rovers to lose one of their other games in order for Spurs to progress?

If Spurs find themselves in that situation, Spurs really don't deserve to be in the competition. Spurs were the highest ranked team in the draw while Rovers were the lowest. Spurs have a team full of Internationals, Rovers only have a couple of full time professionals who are on less than €1,000 a week.

Faior enough. Well I'll definitely be hoping Shamrock Rovers do well...apart from against us!

I'd love to get a ticket, but somehow I doubt I'll be able to. Shame as it's only a short flight from Bristol.

Rovers want to try and play all matches in Tallaght. But if they move it to the aviva they'll get over 30,000 so it may be easy enough to get tickets. At the moment they're talking about putting in temporary seating but they've asked uefa before and been turned down. It makes no sense to limit yourself to 6000 when you can more than 5 times that amount.

On a side note, not one rovers player has said this will be an inconvenience, even though they'll be playing most games during the close season. Hang your head in shame Jermaine.

there's talk that it will be at the aviva, if it is, then getting a ticket should be do-able. there should be no trouble sitting outside the allocated spurs section

You might be able to - the game'll probably be held in the Aviva Stadium - formerly Lawndowne Road, so there would be plenty of tickets available.

Yeah it sounds good. I'm guessing that I'd have to get a ticket in the home end though.

Went to Dublin for the first time back in April, and was only there for a few hours. Will be good to see a bit more of the place.

Just in time for some Christmas shopping!

Although, given that there'll be a lot of home supporters with allegiances to both teams, I'd say that support in the stadium will be fairly mixed. One corner/end is normally reserved for the travelling/away support.

It's not definately going to be moved so don't go booking flights just yet. I'm a season ticket holder at Rovers so I'll definately be there. Most likely screaming for Defoe's blood though.

The way it worked for the Juve and Copenhagen matches were that season ticket holders were guaranteed one ticket. If they are allowed put in temporary seating, we might be allowed two each. So its unlikely mate. 6000 seats at present, 3500 season ticket holders, 600 away supporters, additional tickets will likely be allocated to club members and then the FAI will take the rest. There may be tickets made available to other Airtricity League supporters so it might be an idea to contact Dundalk, or else sell your soul to the devil and give hunky dorey park a ring!:)

I know loads of people have two teams, but I can never get my head round it personally, but I'm probably the minority on that one...

It's not two teams. Rovers are my local team, I've supported them all my life. And the gulf in standard is that vast that it may as well be a different sport!
