Exactly. Means that (as we all know now anyway) Keane to 'Pool has definitely had something in it from the start.

I think i would've preferred Gus not to come out and say anything, cos now if no-one else does when they're linked with a move away, it means it probably has legs.

Meanwhile, Gus responded to speculation in Sunday's media linking him with an assistant's role at Manchester United. "It's nothing," he stated. "It was a surprise to read it.
"I want to stay at Spurs, I want to stay with this manager, this group of players and this club because I'm very happy.
"When you are in England and you are lucky enough to be with one of the big teams you are always going to get speculation. It happens, that's football - I've been around long enough to ignore it!"

Great news. Manchester United are going to buy the entire club to get Gus. The fuckers.

bent played 45mins and never scored against a team o'hara scored twice again. . . . need i say more.

And neither did Keane or Berb so you are right you neednt say more, as you run the risk of even sounding more stupid.

Judging by the reports and the photos it seems the most likely team would have been:

1st half

Alnwick
Gunter Chimbonda Dawson Assou-Ekotto
Lennon Bostock Jenas Taarabt
Keane Bent

2nd Half

Jansson
Hutton ???? Huddlestone ????
Malbranque Townsend O’Hara Dos Santos
Berbatov Pekhart

The 1st half looks pretty obvious. My guess for the 2nd half line-up would be

Gomes
Hutton Woody King Bale
Malbranque Hudd O'hara GDS
Berba Pekhart

How come we scored only one in the first half and shipped in seven in the second half? Replace O'hara, Malbranque and Pekhart for Modric, Lennon/Bently, and Keane and we should easily have our starting line-up for Boro. Can't wait.

Probably because BErbatov came on and started pulling strings

(or our higher fitness levels ran the Spanish team into the ground)

Here's how the goals went in...

27.16: Bostock pinpoint cross from the left powered home by the head of Lennon from 16 yards. 1-0.

47.18: Berbatov and O'Hara involved in the move that led to Pekhart rifling into the top corner from the edge of the box. 2-0.

53.24: Huddlestone picked out dos Santos on the left, he carried the ball into the box, the keeper anticipated the cross, dos Santos drilled home at his near post. 3-0.

63.25: Hutton broke down the right and cut the ball back for Berbatov, he controlled and crossed low for Pekhart to sweep home from 10 yards. 4-0.

68.20: Tavernes failed to clear their lines and dos Santos made no mistake from eight yards. 5-0.

76.20: Pekhart into the box, left side, squared for Malbranque who slotted home from 12 yards. 6-0.

84.50: Townsend found O'Hara who drove past a couple of defenders before finishing from a central position into the corner. 7-0.

85.51: Goal of the night - we kept possession for a spell before O'Hara curled into the top corner from 20 yards. 8-0.

First half: Alnwick, Gunter, Assou-Ekotto, Dawson, Chimbonda, Lennon, Jenas, Taarabt, Bostock, Keane, Bent.

Second half: Jansson, Hutton, Townsend, Tainio, Archibald-Henville, Malbranque, O'Hara, Huddlestone, dos Santos, Berbatov, Pekhart.

No minutes for Gomes, Bale, King, Woodgate. Not sure if anyone else missed out.

For some reason I'm finding it very difficult to visualise Lennon powering home a header.

From 16 yards. Its not even a header that he literally nodded in from almost on the goal line. Incidentally wern't thay practicing crossing and finishing yesterday? That is some unbelievable training if they taught him that little trick!
