Lamela is a strange one. He has the skill of a freestyle artist but is technically limited. He simply cannot use his right foot, his first touch is poor and he does not have tactical awareness to compensate for these limitations (like a Ryan Giggs). He frustratingly almost inevitably loses the ball in key attacking areas.

He is strangely almost more beneficial defensively - full of aggressive running and tackling, covering significant ground off the ball and provides fairly decent circulation in deep positions - which is why Poch puts him on when he wants to increase intensity. Useful in particular games where we already have creative outlets. Frustrating in games where we are looking for additional creativity and ball retention.

Lucas Moura is a significant upgrade. Wonderful attacking creative touch and movement, good finishing ability and running. Really looking forward to see him completely settled in and playing regularly. Dan Levy got us a great deal there.
He's technically very gifted, he sets the tempo and gets the ball back rapidly: in other words, he is very important for the press. He tries high risk passes, which by their nature will mean that many will not work. He is brave in his play, which is what Poch values. His control is as good as Alli's. He is only now coming back to full match fitness and his confidence is still limited.

Some people can't see he is our best passer in the final third. Just play him in the middle that's all Poch needs to do.

Professional job today, hopefully City beat Chelsea and that will start to put some real pressure on them.

Stat of the day - @SpursOfficial boss Mauricio Pochettino if he wins today becomes the first non-european manager to win 100 Premier League matches. Follow the game with me and @RealRomfordPele on @talksportmdl

Is that stat correct? Would mean Maurice has won in excess of 25 games for each of the 3 full and this 3/4 way through season. Surely that's not right?

Pochettino in: Confirms that Son was brought off to limit his minutes, not because of injury.

So he took him off with next week in mind

Just home from Wembley and that was a very good solid performance today from the team....
The team went for it from the 2nd minute (First minute they had their best chance of the whole game) but we settled and should have won by more than 2 but we looked solid from the back 4 all the way through, couple of loose passes from usual suspects and Kane was not fully on it (even though a great assist for Son 2nd) but overall good performance and much needed 3 pts.

1 thing I would add though is the atmosphere in Wembley is really shit, 5th time this year and its like a library, cant wait to be back in Tottenham.

Did meet Mark Schwarzer today who was doing radio commentating, said he fancied us for top 3

Lamela is not our best passer in the final third. Why is lamela so overrated on here? Everyone I know (me included), spurs fan and non spurs fan, don’t rate the guy anyway near as much as you guys in here.

I love how immediately after Huddersfield's best chance we went down the other end an wrapped the game up. It's like we though "fuck it, let's just finish this off then we can relax for Juve."

A few years ago we would have probably shat ourselves and let them back in to the game.

I think he is and absolutely our best passer in the box. The tight passes direction, speed of thought, and weight of pass, there is no equal. However I would t say he is our best passer overall.
