Everyone was good today. Even Keane I thought played well, even if he did miss those two chances.

We deserved to win, certainly. I really think we learned a harsh lesson from Barcelona. Our pressing in the first half was excellent, and we continued into the second. Liverpool never threatened apart from the penalty.

First, what a goal from Disco Benny, an early goal of the season contender.
Secondly, very good header and an excellent debut overall.
Thirdly, Gomes should have learned from the Old Trafford incident last season coming out against someone running at him at that pace. I'm sure Harry will have a word.

King and Bassong looked like they have played together for ages. I think King is just that good.

Two key games coming up away from home now, we need to continue in this way.

I'm absolutely delighted! What makes it even sweeter is, all of my best mates are Liverpool and have been giving it the all, this is our year, blah blah blah, Spurs are dodgy at the back, you have no defenders, Torres and Stevie G nonsense. Well, I can safely say they will be quiet for quite a while. :) Get in you Lilywhites!!

Surprise surprise Rafa complains about a definite penalty. It wasn't a penalty at all. Ekotto just ushered him off the ball. Nothing in it. You dont get penalties for that.

Harry just said the players aren't allowed to drink

Agree with what you say, but i thought it was the Celtic game that gave us the kick up the arse we needed. They totally outworked us and after that game our workrate shot up. Thats what won us the game today, the 100% effort of every player.

I am one of those odd ducks that truly hates Liverpool much more than Arsenal. I know that's almost sinful, but I don't hail from London. I've been told to hate Arsenal out of loyalty. But I hate Liverpool for more realistic reasons. I hate thier fans, bunch of fascists scum-bags, I hate their manager and I hate their cheating players. So a win over Liverpool usually feels better (other than the 5-1). So I am completely grinning from ear-to-ear. Can't wait to watch it as I had to tape it due to being too pussy to watch it

anyone saw king limping abit towards the end?

Thought I saw a hint of that. Keane took a knock just before he went off as well. Well, we still have Pav and Crouchie to count on so Im not too worried.

Unsurprising. He put in such a tough shift marking Torres out of the game. I didn't expect him to play at Hull anyway, but he certainly won't now.

Hopefully this game will have settled Bassong quickly because he will be playing with Corluka at Hull, probably with Naughton at RB.

Gomes nearly cost us the 3 points today. I blame him not having much to do for the whole game, so I'll let it slide, but I might not have been so forgiving if Super Seb hadn't rescued our arses.

I find it sooo funny looking back at the comments as the game progresses, "get this one off", "this players shit" etc etc

We have a fantastic squad atm and they all played well today.

The reason for wanting Hudd off wasn't that he was having a bad game but that he was dead on his feet after 70 mins. He needs to improve that for sure. His slowness indirectly caused the penalty too. I think in general everyone played well with Wilson and Corluka the stand out two. Bassong also had a great game and King once again showed his class by playing so well after not having a pre season.

Hudd had a great game. I've been a critic of his off-the-ball play, but I'd be interested to see stats on his interceptions and tackles because he seemed to be everywhere.
