The players have managed to put us in a high pressure situation and it's up to them to put in a 110% committed performance instead of some of the lacklustre crap they've served up recently. If they can't get their foot firmly back on the gas til the end of the season there will be a lot to answer for. Considering we've played every game away from home this term, we've had an exceptional season and I would have had your arm off for a top 4 place in September. The players should be boiling mad at themselves for the way they've let things slip and if they have any pride we should be ripping into Newcastle from the first whistle. If we start slow and cautious I can see us getting stuck in 2nd gear again. COYSFFS!

There's simply no excuse for not being fired up for the last two matches. The players should be fuming after how the WBA match ended. If we can't secure 4 points from Newcastle and Leicester at home we don't deserve a CL spot.

This is all down to the players as I see it. The line-up versus WBA was one of the strongest we've seen for several months and and we still looked lackadaisical. The players we have are simply better in all positions in regards to both Newcastle and Leicester. If that doesn't shine through then it's the players that aren't doing enough.

If they're on the beach and we're on the beach,
assuming it's the same location
the name of the game is

BEACH FOOTBALL.

I think we will win either way.

Feck the beach. Last time we headed down there, pesky Seagulls stole our chips...and 2 points.

Newcastle United.
Not the first team that comes to mind
when you ask
'Who haven't we done the double over for going on 14 years'.
Time to rewrite the record boys.
Please.

I'm hoping for a bit more energy in our play. More zip and accuracy when passing, and alot less of this irrelevant sideways passing, usually to a player stood still.

Let's get feckin mobile, plenty of options with players making runs left, right and centre.

Get the ball forward as soon as we can, breach their lines. Possession is great, but at times our build up play is so slow, the opposition are back and in position ready to defend.

Let's twat this lot. We owe em' a hiding to truly erase that shocking 5-1 defeat to deny us 2nd.

I dare you to do.

Taking my 9 year old daughter to her first gig tonight to see Ed Sheeran. But my attention will be totally focused on the score at wemberlee. COYS. Don't let us long suffering fans down. Hope Poch doesn't mess about with his team selection either. Toby to start. Sissoko nowhere to be seen. Big call to be made on whether Kane starts tonight. Personally, I think he needs a rest.

My condolences

Squeaky bum time

I tend to shake a bit of talcum powder in my leather under-crackers, works wonders for eliminating the old squeaky bum.

Don my Stetson and Cuban heels, nothing else...good to go.

I have an acquaintance in my local, Scottish chap, supports Rangers and Chelsea.

To say he was a wind up merchant would be a massive understatement. Could cause an argument in an empty phone box.

Needless to say we have a bet on who'll finish above whom.

He's going to be unbearable if we fail and they overtake, and stay above us.

He's another who basically knows feck all about football, but tends to make the most noise when debating issues surrounding his team or football in general.

Myself, well as you know, I'm far too classy for shouting in a pub. If we finish top 4 and ahead of Chelsea, I'm hoping to get a few t-shirts printed up with top 6 final league standings, obviously with Chelsea name a tad bigger and bolder. I'll enjoy wearing down the local with my mates donning them also.

Not gonna lie, I have quite a bit of nervous energy today.

You know that scene from Star Wars Ep1 where a young Obi wan is just itching to smash the shit out of Darth Maul but is blocked by the light wall thingy..... well I hope that is how all our players feel right now.

Massive game. COYS!

I'm not at all confident for tonight's game as there has been so little to like or admire about our recent performances. Even in the wins against Watford we were very patchy going forwards and looked vulnerable at the back. On Saturday we were just crap in every department. As others have said if we start slowly tonight then I worry we'll be stuck in 2nd gear again and it will be another frustrating and ultimately disappointing evening. Get the first goal however and we should kick on.

Don't fancy us creating many chances against a Rafa Benitez team though...

I don't think it's quite so easy to say that the players have lost focus, should be angry with themselves, and it's just a matter of them coming out 'fired up'..... There's quite a few of them who look knackered (or completely unfit in the case of one individual in particular.....), completely run into the ground, and in certain crucial positions that kills the team. Maybe they do have a last little bit of fuel in the tank for these last couple of games to get us over the line, but going on the last few games, especially the semi final where they would have known what is at stake, I don't think it's a case of them downing tools, more that certain individuals just cant raise much of a fight.

Hopefully they find something in reserve, but if you've run out of steam and hit the wall then even if you want to raise your performance it's a difficult, sometimes impossible, task.
