Crowd has a big part to play tonight. If there’s one thing that pushes a team on it’s a rabid encouraging crowd.

I’ve got a feeling it’ll be deathly silent unfortunately with lots of groaning st every misplaced pass.

Will make nervous players even more nervous and lead to mistakes and tentative play.
Depends how we start. The players have to dictate that.

Start poorly and it will get tense quickly. A few chances and or an early goal and I think it will be more relaxed.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Imagine we'll come flying out the traps, but if we don't score in the first 30 we could find it difficult to break Newcastle down. Fingers crossed they don't go too defensive, but I expect they'll turn up playing for the point.
Which of course they don't particularly need - they could just go for it.

Unfortunately I have that negative nagging O'well feeling about this game and it had to be Newcastle a very funny team we have problems with, take Leicester champion season with 10 men they put us to the sword.

Our results since Juventus hasn't been great but if we can turn our fortune around and win our last two games it will be another great season.

Over to the players now.

Apparently if they beat us tonight
as part of the original deal
they have to take Sissoko back.

Even though it's for free
i think we'll be OK

Exactly, which is why somebody be it a player or the Manager grasps the nettle and does the right thing for the team. If we're still pissing around at 80 mins like it's a kickabout in the park and Moura is still on the bench I won't be responsible for my actions.

I don't think it's quite so easy to say that the players have lost focus, should be angry with themselves, and it's just a matter of them coming out 'fired up'..... There's quite a few of them who look knackered (or completely unfit in the case of one individual in particular.....), completely run into the ground, and in certain crucial positions that kills the team. Maybe they do have a last little bit of fuel in the tank for these last couple of games to get us over the line, but going on the last few games, especially the semi final where they would have known what is at stake, I don't think it's a case of them downing tools, more that certain individuals just cant raise much of a fight.

Hopefully they find something in reserve, but if you've run out of steam and hit the wall then even if you want to raise your performance it's a difficult, sometimes impossible, task.

This is strange as I can remember people commenting on how fitter we were as a team and how our stamina showed through because of the fitness training, and strength training, diets etc the coaching staff had the team on. If that was true, what the hell has happened.
I would say nothing, I think it is a mental gap that we are failing to fill. Got to have our heads straight for this match.
Yes we need a fast start, get stuck in, play to the final whistle etc. but our mentality has been off for a good while now and it has shown in our play on the pitch.
Go to put that right tonight, it is a must win game! Then Saturday should take care of itself!
COYS, taking my 7 year old for his first Spurs game, please don't let it be a horror show :nailbiting: to think we could end the game with 4th out of our hands!!!!

We've got this ;)
I don’t

Attitude & the approach of the players will determine whether we get want out of this game. Their attitude & approach has been poor in recent games, but hopefully Poch has got them up for this game & then Sun's.

I thought this would be nearly sold out, there looks to be thousands of tickets still available. If you're thinking of going, go, we need it tonight.

Yeah, but it's really fricking hot in London. Most of us metropolitan types have got some obscure Lithuanian craft beers waiting patiently in the fridge at home.

Torrential rain here again in Ireland and beer off the menu.

Some early Spurs goals please lads, I'm jittery as fuck already with just under 5 hours to go.

I can't imagine a flying start at all. 4231 with Dier and Dembele to ensure a truly leaden footed performance.

I think my biggest worry is players holding back through fear of being injured for the WC. They’ll have all seen what happened to the Ox and Gomez. It must play on their minds in a WC year.

Do Newcastle have any players going to the WC?

Didn't originally have a ticket for tonight but in the spirit of the bigger picture I will unleash my 100% winning record at Wembley this season just to guarantee a win tonight.

I take full responsibility for anything other than a Spurs victory.

You're welcome.
