Solid pick up. was a massive part of quite a decent back line for Burney, (53 Goals against equal with us ) they just couldn't score for shite. (28 fewest in the Prem) Good to see the defense being addressed early. COYS

Lets hope he has the same effect on Walker as Davies had on Rose. I must admit I was in the lets get rid of Rose camp, but I was happy I got it wrong. Welcome aboard Tripps.

Very smart signing. Interesting to see what happens with Walker and Yedlin now. I think he'll be first choice st right back.

This boy looks like a decent player. I normally don't judge based on only highlights - but the intelligence of his delivery and control look pretty good. Wonder how he is defensively.

He seems to have a very good partnership with Ings. Fingers crossed he can develop a similar understanding with Kane.

I also like that he seems to want to stay wide and deliver that ball in as his first thought, as opposed to a cut back inside.Kane is very strong in the air and I think last year we didn't hit enough first time balls into him. Hopefully Trippier can fix this a bit.

Sensible bit of business from the club, if not the big name that many were hoping for.

Agreed on all front. I must say that brilliant bit of skill when faced with that full back near the corner flag made me sit up - from 2:00

Not see much of the lad - so a quick Utube view.
What I like the look of - is he gets up the park and crosses the ball early and with accuracy (OK they're only showing his successful ones!)
Walker was a headless chicken for most part of last season (after injury) - Walker at his best being all about pace and getting to the byline - though final ball often lacking.
Good to see competition for those positions. (Davies + Rose etc)

Walker - One of the top 3 right backs in England.
Yedlin - Only just signed.
Eric Dier - More than capable at RB last season.
Trippier - Just got relegated.

Do we really need 4 right backs?

Walker - WAS one of the best right backs in England for one season but fails to beat the full back and fails to deliver crosses any more. Trippier will do both.

Dier - Can do a jon there but less capable than a proper RB, why fill round holes with square pegs when you dont have to?

Yedlin - by all accounts has had problems and has been awful in training, chances are he will make a better winger than a RB so why risk him being a liability and destroying his confidence when you dont have to?

Trippier - a proper RB that can cross pinpoint from the byline or diagonally from the half way line, exactly what we need and for me, hopefully he will be ahead of Walker.
