The reporter is the one saying it in the video to be fair, but it sounds like he has been told rather than his opinion
I only read the article but yes, it's like when a club says that a player isn't for sale and denies receiving a bid and then he's subsequently sold.

Its bullshit. Its like selling your house but saying you expect to carry on kipping in the master bedroom for the foreseeable.
Imagine if that was a redline in any negotiation. Everything is agreed aside from that..... I can't believe it would be, especially as JL would presumably override as majority owner. Could see benefit as a consultant/advisor for a period, but you want your own people in key positions. Especially his one.

I have a nasty feeling that some of you who want a takeover etc will regret gagging for ENIC out. I am not saying ENIC are smelling of roses but its more a case of not trusting potential investors and owners.

I have a feeling that some of you who don't want a takeover will realize that things could be better under new ownership. I'm not saying any and every potential owner will be better but it's more of a case of being optimistic for a better future.

Also. If ENIC are such good custodians of the club, it follows they won’t sell to just anyone. Especially some asset stripping chancers who will undo all the fabulous work by ENIC. Right?

Analogy sucks a bit. It’s like buying a big fuck off shopping centre and retaining the managing agents - who have actually ran the thing day to day - on a short term contract whilst you re-tender that role.

That is an entirely common scenario. As is someone like Levy staying on in that role. Now he may not have the autonomy and may have to take direction, but he certainly knows where they keep the fax machine and the stale coffee tins. It’s useful.

This news may also explain why they’re hiring new in-house counsel (albeit 2-3 year PQE) - maybe someone to manage the huge level of work that this will be? I mean it will be managing A&O or Slaughters or whoever does their M&A but still.

Yes I’m going to apply.

No I won’t get it cos they’ve done the fucking real estate work.

Yes the pay is no doubt terrible.

Please tell me Levy can not veto any deal Lewis might want to do?
They will certainly have an agreement between themselves on that, and unless they choose to reveal its contents, no one will know its terms.

However, it's extremely unlikely that a minority shareholder would, ultimately, prevent a sale that the majority shareholder really wants, even if they have an agreement that allows that to happen, which is also unlikely. I shouldn't worry on that score.

But in reality, the way these things work is that Levy would, if he felt it was the right thing for whatever reason, try everything to persuade the majority owner to reject a bid. Regardless of what is possible, these things are usually determined by negotiation and persuasion rather than old contracts.

Not sure anyone meets ENIC's valuation of THFC. It seems we will be stuck with them for the long term. :(

What links do the bidders have to the Club? Why do they want to purchase the Club?

Even if everything went as well as we could hope, which means big investment, a suddenly much better team, that led to trophies. It would feel no different to City or Chelsea winning things. Paying for a prostitute to take your virginity, as I've seen a few people accurately describe it.

I'm not sure whether it's possible to make the majority of the fanbase happy. We either struggle to compete, or we buy success. We need a Poch type who struggles to overcome the odds, maybe? But this ain't no Disney movie.

I don't care anymore whom might buy the club. All i hope is we get rid of Levy!

Before I didn't want any country to own us (Qatar etc) but now i just want Levy gone. We hear every transfer window that it's Levy who pull the plug and makes it hard to buy players. We hear every time we get a new manager that Levy promised to back him, still he never does.

I hope someone buy us asap.

Know nothing about company finances and how it all works but checked out the accounts of three of the companies listed above, assume rest are the same, the ones checked were Stardare , THFC Women and THFC Stadium, in each accounts it has a section that begins "The ultimate controlling party is ENIC Sports & Development Holdings Limited , 303 Shirley St , Nassau"
Just wonder if ENIC would sell the lot or certain sections of the club.

PS All ENIC haters off to the Bahamas and parade up and down outside 303 Shirley St with your protest banners. :)

Think you will find 303 Shirley is a non descript building with circa 10k companies in “it”

Fair play for avoiding (deliberately I suspect) the usual soundbites on this and you do have a point........BUT............If Levy were to sell to anyone, that risk is there. Wether we as fans want it or not, that risk is there. Obviously there will always be that doubt or risk, no matter who, no matter when, that is a chance that will eventually be taken by Levy regardless of our 'wants'.

Given the well documented problems with them here on SC, it's hardly surprising that any 'risk' is one a lot of people might be willing to take. Wether that proves to be a good thing or not, well, nobody knows.

And one final point on this. If new owners are seen to be taking a chance or risky, then the chance that they'll actually prove to be 'better' at the football side is surely at least equal to that. All we can do is see how it plays out really.

Every set of new owners always start with fighting talk about how ambitious they are. Moshiri, Venkys...remember how Newcastle welcomed Mike Ashley with open arms because he wasn't Freddy Shepherd.

A sizeable chunk, if not a majority of our fan base wanted Redknapp out, then we got AVB. A majority wanted AVB out, we got Sherwood. A lot wanted Pochettino out, we got Mourinho. Practically everyone wanted Mourinho out, we got Nuno. The grass isn't always greener and whilst I want to see some sort of "change" at the club, this kind of thing makes me nervous as there are many many scenarios in which new owners are a lot worse for us than ENIC.
