Just got back from the game.

Pretty good performance against almost anyone else but in this fixture its the result that is everything and again us fans are suffering.
Thought Arsenal were average at best and there for the taking.

Three defeats in a season to them wankers isn't really good enough, especially when we've lost twice at home to the spanners, been utterly humiliated by Liverpool, City twice and Chelsea.

Still, that's the season officially over for us now. Almost a sense of relief. Bar Old Trafford its not been enjoyable at all.

Agreed, it's been a painfully disappointing season so far with so little highlights.

I feel naive for being so optimistic at the start of this season

We are so much better off with Levy at the helm than before he took over.

Since Levy has taken over we are disappointed at not making 4th.

Before Levy took over we were relieved to not get relegated.

I know which scenario I prefer.
I take your point, but a similar argument can be made about Sugar and Scholar. Before Sugar took over we were deep in debt and on the verge of bankruptcy, afterwards he cleared the debt and managed the club on a sound financial basis and invested in redevelopment of the north and South stands. Each chairman will bring some improvements during their tenure but fail in other areas.

The point being a chairman can only take the club so far, and it's becoming ever clearer Levy has reached his limits.

It's all been a bit nineties really? At least we made it to March, right?

Do you not feel, as a club, with the size of our fanbase, stadium, and revenues, that we have hit our ceiling?

What we need is a manager that takes us above and beyond our current potential. They are very rare. Levy is trying to find the right one, but it's not easy, and will take a lot of time.

Ok so having just watched the game, that was a better performance than I was expecting. Thought we'd get smashed, which we didn't. A ridiculous (in a good way) early goal and that was it. We had some great chances just couldn't score. Considering I was expecting the worst, I'll take a 1-0 defeat and a spirited performance after the last two games.
I'll go along with that easley91, just back from the game and without doubt we were better than I thought we'd be. A fluke goal in the first minute, a good goal ok but how often do teams score in the first minute? What I liked was that it didn't really knock us out of our stride, we didn't let our heads drop and we kept up a high level of performance and that hasn't always been the case as we all know.
What I do know is that performance would have won us a few of the games we haven't won this season.
Just a point on the Tim Sherwood stuff, I am surprised some people don't seem to realise that we spoke to van Gaal and he is coming but not until the summer in which case we could hardly employ anyone else for six months or even eighteen months, they'd have wanted three or four year contracts so Tim was the man to cover until then, unlike chelsea we can't get the likes of Hiddink or Benitez for six months at a three year cost.

We had a go today and a bit more quality would have earned us at least a draw.

That said, there's still more questions than answers.

Can this season end already, bring on the World... oh wait, I'm English!

Eriksen has played well since change of manager and Chiriches was also promising enough. Lamela hasn't had much of a chance before getting injured and Capoue was mixed bag. Chadli, Paulinho and Soldado...
But it's pretty clear we messed up a lot with the money

Meh, we lost, but at least it wasn't 5-0.

Apart from the goal, Arsenal were meh, At least we had bit of spirit today. Not the greatest attacking threat ever, but better than recent weeks.

I didn't see all the game today, but I am not cry TBH, okay the result was shit, but I thought we at least deserved a draw and that is the first thing we have deserved for a while. Dominant, but didn't create enough, but at least the scum were not walking through us like a hot knife through butter every 2 mins.

Even TS, gets a day this time.

Shit result, but we put some effort in.
Meh

="millsey, post: 3923512, member: 7010"]Merson just summed us up perfectly. We spent 100 mill, and not one of those players can you say have had a 7 out of 10 season. More 4 or 5. Baldini has to take a lot of the blame

Merson should also know that players need to settle. Wenger knows this. Most fans know this. Or should do. Baldini bought them. If they come good next season he should be praised. If they don't, then he can be blamed.[/quote]
We can't risk being shit for a season because we bought too many players. It was a mistake

New players need a good while to settle. I can't believe so many think the summer spending has all been a waste of money. Paulinho a first teamer for BRAZIL no less! In time Eriksen I'm sure will suprise many with just how good he is. Lamela has had no way near enough time to judge. Who knows if Soldado will be amazing next year? Surely it's to do with the direction or lack of the team has which needs to come from management and no its not Tims fault so I'm not blaming him that he's so inexperienced. but he is.

Performance wasn't bad, once again as that dickhead Mourinho said Spurs have the ball but you don't feel the danger - Szchezny made one quite tame save today thats all.

Arsenal were so average, scored a lucky goal on the counter then sat back and defended looking for a counter in the 1st half (we were very fortunate Oxlade-Chamberlain didn't score that one on one) in the second they didn't even do that.

Sherwood's subs always stink of he hasn't made his mind up on the players and doesn't really know what he is doing, his subs today actually killed out momentum totally and ended the game.

Bright spots were: Naughton, Adebayor, and Chadli all played well.

Bentaleb was terrible and needs to go back to the youth team

For once I reckon the players put in a shift today but Sherwood got the formation, tactics and subs wrong.

You think chelsea would buy 7 players, accept finishing 4th next year as they need time to settle in? No chance
