Sanchez had no need to even go near Aubamayang at the end for the non penalty. He was going down as soon as he felt the slightest touch.

He's had some really poor games this season for us and today wasn't much better. Mistake for the goal as well.
Never understood why he is rated so highly by so many. He is a mistake waiting to happen.

I hope everyone who gives Dele stick realises the difference he makes to this team.

God, we looked impotent today.

Makes it hard with a Wanyama/Sissoko creativity vacuum in the middle.

I agree but I thought Wanyama was alright today for his first game back for ages. If he can prove some fitness he’ll be an important player for the rest of the season when we need a defensive midfielder.

At least my weekend isn't completely ruined again, a win against Southampton and Arse lose to Utd next week and we are 7 points in front with 8 games left. There are some real knee jerkers on here and my ignore list is growing at speed lately , makes reading threads much quicker.
Edit Utd losing things are not as bad as some on here make out
Perverts everywhere I’m afraid

I wonder why Moura has suddenly become the sub that Poch doesn't want to use. At least he is genuinely quick and a bit unpredictable. I would have brought him on for Son at HT as clearly it wasn't Son's day
Son's first half was okay. He wouldn't have brought Lucas on at HT. And if it ain't Son's day, the chances are it ain't Moura's day either. There was barely any service whatsoever to both Son and Kane. So frustrating.

There's something not right with him. He'll never be the player he was.

We need a new stadium boost.

That's the only thing i can see energising us for the run in.

We've been pretty low energy all season but last couple of weeks our performances have dropped markedly.

The point is those hurdles should never have been there in the first place .We should have bought players and stadium should have been finished .
Appreciate we have done well in the circumstances it's just some have higher ambitions and aspirations than others !

If higher ambitions and aspirations means writing stuff like "Player X is a joke", then it's not for me.

I get what you're saying. I'm equally upset how the club has been handled this last year. It's how some are talking about our players that I can't stand. As long as we're outspent by the other 'Big' clubs and we're constantly relying on 3-4 players having top performances every match, then we're going to have good and bad spells.

Hope so. Equally, Lamela really doesn’t look that great. In the past he’s been incisive but more recently he’s laboured and largely ineffective. I’ve really changed my mind about Moura too, whose application has been dreadful lately- I generally avoid emotive hyperbole but he was a disgrace against Chelsea. It’s been evident why PSG rarely played him.

It feels we have a fair bit of rebuilding to do over the summer but I’m not convinced how successful this will be
I'm hoping that part of our listlessness is related to not having a proper pre-season, which will have affected the whole squad, not just the ones who were on WC duty.

Maybe with a decent preseason and (hopefully, please, please, please, please, please) some reinforcements we'll have a better season.

@Haddock put it well, we've had a horrible season. But have managed to perform. It's only recently that that the performance has also gone downhill which begs the question as to what the problem is.

Just need to hold our nerve.

Does anyone actually believe the 5-3-1-2 formation is working for us?

Game was crying out for 4-2-3-1 today.

Maybe it's something to do with Trippier, one of our most creative players, being a liability in a back four.

We have to prioritise our transfer business as there'd be too much to do otherwise. Because of that, for now we should keep faith in Lamela and Lucas.

The problem with Lucas is that I don't think he's suited to narrow roles (number 10, striker) and would be much more effective out on the right or left.

I think Lamela has suffered a bit from the general lack of balance in the team, he plays far far better in a 4-2-3-1. Most of the time when he's come on as well we've been playing this chaotic hoof ball bollocks up to Llorente and Kane. He needs to be receiving it short and on the turn where he can slip balls through behind the defence.

Now Kane is back and Alli is still out, it should be our go to with the players available.

There was a massive Winks shaped hole in our side today, couldn’t get our passing game going at all so as a result couldn’t control the game.

Before Wanyama went off we looked like we were down to ten men (possibly nine with the way Eriksen played.) it was a massive mistake to start Wanyama.

Don’t know why he persists with 3 at the back. Leaves us short when we attack.

We don't have a central midfielder capable of passing the ball when Winks isn't playing - we really didn't have much choice.

Jan and Toby and better passes and more creative than Sissoko and Wanyama.

Just out of wembley.

We should of won that, and had Eriksen played half as well as he can we would of mullered them.

Right behind Hugo for the save
