Waiting for Stoof and the gang to say something like "yeah, so Pav scored again, but still didn't run around as much as Crouchie and still looked lazy at times, don't get what all the fuss is about this SuperPav fella, when is this Pavlyuchenko-wankathon" going to end" etc etc etc?

The player is still shite anyway, isn't he - I mean, he had that run last year when the whole team were struggling and disrupted, and looked shite then too!

Never mind that the whole team performance was so much more cohesive and effective regularly throughout the match (apart from some sloppy moments indeed), with so much better movement on the ground and far fewer long hopeful punts forward from the back - when we did not have Crouch to "hit and hope". Modric and Huddlestone saw much more of the ball than they did for such a long period of this "hit Crouchie" tactics.

I only got to my seat seconds before kick off. I thought I was hallucinating when I saw BAE at RB. I didn't even know he was fit let alone able to play RB. Did well I thought.

Given how well Bale is playing it might be worth playing BAE at RB more... would be great to have to fullbacks/wingbacks like that.

A mention to Gudjohnsen too who showed some good touches and made some clever runs when he came on.

Are we back to having 4 very good strikers now?

He was excellent, held the ball up very well and never looked rushed. He has that air of real quality about his game.

Not a great game to miss for Ol Crouchie.

He'll be sliding right down the pecking order now.

Thought Eidur looked class when he came on, love players who play with their head up. Wouldn't mind a few games of Eidur and Pav together.

Dunno mate, it said "tactical" in the sportinglife match ticker, but I'm sure we'll know more tomorrow.

Wonderful news, i did not realise they were playing tomorrow, and away from home, and our game is early Sunday so less than 72 hours recovery.

nice

No, he was rested for Sunday. The game was pretty much over at half-time (and was certainly over after O'Brien's brilliant conversion of Bale's cross), and Gudjohnsen needed a run-out.

Probably just keeping Defoe fresh for the Everton game, Harry did say Eidur deserved a run out aswell and Pav obviously deserved a decent amount of time on the pitch, plus we were 2 up by half-time.

Bolton were bloody awful though. After the 9-1 massacre against Wigan this Bolton team were probably the worst we've played this season. They should of just forfiet if they we going to show up and not try.

I'm a happy bunny tonight. Not exactly rolls royce stuff but a decent enough performance and 4 goals so can't complain. Delighted with Pavlyuchenko, I hope he keeps it up, and even when we took our foot off the gas a little we were still always in control. Roll on Sunday and Everton.
