Essentially yes, it's far easier to rescind than to punish. When you rescind a decision you only go against the ref who made that decision, when you punish you go against not only the player who committed the offense, but his club as well.It was certainly worthy of a yellow.
And so, on to my favourite topic: why did they FA even look at this, when the referee had dealt with it (no matter how unsatisfactorily), when they refused to do anything at all about Rooney's forearm smash last season, and Suarez's disgraceful assault against Citeh last week, followed by pathetic/comic playacting. Could it, perhaps, be because they are still a bunch gutless sychophants.
