As others have said, we "dominated" because Chelsea allowed us to.

I worry about the teams who come and attack us at Wembley. Every time Chelsea got into the final third, they seemed one ball away from splitting our defense open.

All those other teams dont have a 200m worth XI. Only 2 teams in whole league who can park the bus & have that moment of brilliance in league to hit us - Chelsea & United under Mourinho.

Today proved that Dier and Poch have agreed that he won't play CB ever again. Not that it would've made a difference but was very surprised we weren't playing 3 at the back considering how it worked against Chelsea last year at home.

Wanyama needs game time to get sharp, Dembele was motm today. It'll be very interesting to see if Dier starts CM next week.
You'd think sanchez would be close to starting given his fee and the fact he's been training up until the last few days so won't be unfit. On the balance of things, dier starts over wanyama in midfield next week anyway. He was subbed because of the yellow, not because he was bad.

While you may be right. I don't recall a single moment in that game where I thought "if we had more pace, we'd have scored there". Chelsea had a game plan, defend deep and be organized, and that's what they done. Apart from a couple of moments when we were 1 down, they didn't open us up or really get in behind us
As @ravenspurs said above having a pacey wingback on each side opens up the pitch for us because the width and threat in behind they provide makes it difficult for teams to sit back against us.

Playing with both Trippier and Davies at the same time makes us so much easier to defend because there isn't that threat in behind, teams can sit in a block and feel secure that they'll be able to keep everything in front of our wide men and keep us passing side to side.

The game was crying out for Winks to come on and prove a capable outlet (nod towards Lloris) in someone who can receive the ball, lay it off or turn and see the pass.

For Sissoko to be the preference just fucking baffles me and I wonder what is Poch's rationale there

Poch needs to start trusting Winks in these sort of matches, a centermidfield of Dembele, Wayama and Dier has such a limited ability to move the ball quickly to our attacking band. And it totally stunts our attack.

Plus, much like when we went to City last year after they got stuffed by Everton, these kind of teams full of champions don't like getting stick and criticism, it fires them up.
yes, I was concerned the Burnley defeat , although amusing at the time, would probably fire them up for this one

I would agree with all of this except that Azpilicueta has played in their CB3 ever since Conte switched to it. It's not exactly a role he's uncomfortable in.

True but he's still a short-arse that you can exploit in the air (see Dele x2 last season)

Shout out to Dembele & Davies - probably our best players on pitch today. Davies has grown so much on me in last 6 months. Davies not making it easy for Rose to get into starting XI when he comes back

We're Chelseas bitch. Just gotta deal with it

Come fourth. They win the champions league and take our place

Go to sign a club record player in Willian. They flash their knickers and he goes running

Go closest to winning the league in 15/16. They stop us

Go closer to winning the league. They win it

Stop their record unbeaten run. They beat us in an FA cup semi-final scoring every shot on target

Batter them in our first home game at Wembley after going unbeaten for an entire year at home. They win, scoring both shots

The Sissoko sub was a poor one imo, I think Wanyama should have come off for Winks, if that happens I think we at least go on to draw the game.
