And breathe...
Wow, didn't know I could hold my breath that long. Have to say we did all that mattered...got the 3 points. Really important to get the wins when you don't play well. Son -. 3 seconds of brilliance.

Spurs didn't play well, yes .... but CP parked the bus. Spurs had 70 % possession. Yes, I know, possession isn't everything but CP did not come to play and thus did not deserve a point really.

But they did force our keeper into a MOM performance.

Massive win. Was always going to be like this, it was, we won. Pull everyone out of every international squad and get them in oxygen tents until arsenal

Don't kid yourself into thinking we've bought him to play long ball, because we don't play long ball. At the moment he looks awful because he doesn't fit the system. Hence him not being good enough

Kid myself? Mate what are you talking about?

I can name 50 target men who didn't play for long ball teams. Target men hold the ball up. Plays far up the pitch and job can be to just disrupt the cbs. Llorente in a nutshell. Hugely useful when we're protecting a lead and don't want to over committee in midfield in the final 15 minutes.

You're talking total bollocks.

A high level of mental intensity and concentration is probably needed after some high profile wins against Liverfools and RM, to stay grounded, to maintain the high level of game play from those wins.

We couldn't do it against manure, almost, but undone by Martial. We almost collapsed if not for Zaha wayward shot. It was quite a good fortune to have Son brilliant shot giving us the winner. Took away nothing from the lads, they seemed so mentally tired, that their bodies are following it, but most of them still crossed the line doing their best they could. This will be another area of management from Poch to maintain sharpness after high profile games.

A good 3 points for a good break, hopefully.

You have to say on balance Palace deserved a draw, at least.
Poor from Spurs, especially Son, who the goal aside lost possession at dangerous times and was poor all around with his passing and decision making, yet he scored the winner. That’s football.

Palace will ultimately go down simply because they don’t score enough on their travels, or at all full stop. Plenty of endeavour, but it isn’t enough.

We must be better than that after the break, but 3pts are 3pts and they were very important!! Winning ugly is fine, but I think it’s only fair that after the praise of slapping Real Madrid, we give and accept criticism for that performance.

Well done Gazza btw... he did well in a difficult situation. I will probably give mom to Dier though.

Palace are bottom for a reason, they just cannot score. Zahar had an open goal and fluffed the chance.

Gaza was good but very lucky on two occasions.

Edit how is that funny? First half he hits Sakho in the head, second half he is no man's land against Zaha who misses an open goal
Very slow off his line, but superb shot-stopping. He must be 6' 5".

I like a big keeper.

An excellent 3 points - Absolutely delighted.
Despite the erratic performance there was some real positives to witness and not the normal ones:
1) Gazzaniga - Man Of Match and rightly so. A great debut. He had one lapse and was slow off his line when Zaha missed but he learned rapidly from that. An outstanding debut.
2) The back 3 of Verts, Sanchez & Dier. Verts continues to become a master of the tackle and his positioning. Sanchez has pace a calmness and a youthful energy - a great addition and Dier is starting to have a great season - great positioning and covering in his less familiar role as part of a back 3. It shows positively how well we can do without Toby.
3) Good to see Rose back.
4) Aurier is my heart attack waiting to happen.

All the above is a focus on our defensive unit and how vital it is when we're not firing in midfield or upfront. In those departments we looked absolutely knackered.

Put in perspective... in 17 days we've played Madrid twice, Liverpool & United and now Palace (With the Shitty Spammers Cup game in-between) - 6 games in 17 days - 5 tough ones. In comparison Palace have played 4 games and one of those was against Bristol City. It's been exhausting physically and mentally for the players. I applaud them for 3 hard fought points against a much improved Palace team. I would like to buy Zaha.

We're picking up nasty little knocks and injuries - we really need the break and hopefully we can pull out some more international players and take some well earned R&R.

Gazza gets man of the match
Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Spurs keeper Paulo Gazzanigga: "I knew last night that Michel (Vorm) was not too well so I started preparing then. I was nervous for about three seconds and then the players gave me lots of support. I'll take it step-by-step in trying to become Number 1 for Spurs."

Utter garbage. Let's just get janssen back then because he does a much better job than llorente at holding the ball up and actually scores a couple of goals
