We look jaded, there were no runners from the 60th minute onwards.

Kaboul impressed me. Quick feet, strong in the air, looks composed, and plays the ball out of defence well. Still makes some judgement errors but that would come with time. Our future in defence lies with him.

Sandro didn't impress me. Nothing about his game stood out for me - not particularly athletic nor skillful.

Modric ran the show for us from deep. He's a great player but lacks the instinct to play in the final 3rd. Hopefully it was just Harry's instructions.

VDV didn't have a great game but class is class. He's exactly what we need - strong goal scoring instincts, selfish, fiesty and good movement in the box. He is the reason we would be top 4 this season.

but with out Crouch there we wouldn't have scored. So even if it was a mistake Crouch being there still created the goal

Using that as vindication of his inclusion really is clutching at straws though, do you think he did something there that no-one else in our squad could/would have done?

Fully agree with you and people need to remember it's still very early days. He won/intercepted quite a few balls in and around our half, at the moment he is a better option than palacios imo.

how am i clutching at straws when i haven't even used that as a vindication of his inclusion.

All i have said is you have to give credit to him for being their and getting the ball back across.

Yeah I though he didn't know much about it and it was just pushed onto him, bit of a stretch saying he ment it and made the goal, we got lucky is all and good positioning by VDV.

I am starting to lose patience with Crouch, his lack of EPL goals is not deserving of a place and we certainly did play a lot of longball today.

Looking at Harry's comments after the game, he can't let the ref get away with that performance, should have said something, it's bad enough he just sits there during the game when the ref is that biased, sometimes you have to stand up against it.

I thought Modric was very good today, he is slowly getting back to his old self which is reassuring. BAE, VDV and Kaboul also played well. I liked the look of Sandro when he came on, he is a bit raw still but he looks like he has good potential.

Just the way it comes across given the discussions beforehand, if your not trying to vindicate his inclusion it seems a bit pointless to waste your breath defending him so much against posters who clearly will never rate him no matter what he does.

To address the point you were making then, I wouldn't give him credit just for being there for that assist. That's not far short of giving him credit for being there to take the kick-off without which we would not have been able to play the match.

Crouch was shocking today. He doesn't seem to have that striker's instinct to get beyond, or push someone over in the box to try and get to the ball. Weak and just shit in general today.

Sandro was very good when he was introduced.

wouldn't call it waisting my breath, just pointing out that he was in the right place at the right time, something Pav is praised with.

And its good to know the posters who have vendettas against players and have made up their minds before they will be shit :bang:

None of our strikers are good enough, Defoe is the closest but still not what we need.

Just in case it wasnt clear I'm not one of them, I have actually defended him post-game today against some of the more unreasonable comments, but it is obvious that there are sections of upport who will vilify him unfairly no matter what he does.

Just back from the game.

Crouch was fucking awful today, about as bad as the referee.

The corner of the shelf/park lane started chanting Super Pav and Crouch responded with a sarcastic clap in our direction.

Perhaps if he ran, stopped giving the ball away, scored, looked like scoring, jumped, challenged or tackled there would be no need for people to chant Super Pav.

I fear we are dropping too many points to be pushing for fourth this season, though to be fair to Everton they worked hard and deserved their point.

Oh yes when the ball bounced off him, sorry my mistake.

The ball bounced off him, yes, but he was still there for it to bounce off him. If we wasn't there, we wouldn't have scored, and therefore, we would have lost.

I've said Crouch was shit today, and last season I didn't rate him too highly, I'm not going to lie, but over the course of the season and the start of the this season, he has won me over.

He's not been good the last two games, and should be dropped though.

Crouch is too much of a "gentleman" on the pitch. Get stuck in son. Bully those CBs, don't let them bully you.
I said (as did many others) during the summer transfer that what we really needed was a MoF of striker.
Get that SOB in and CL next season no problem.
