Bollocks to that. I expect to see posts bemoaning the state of the club, the style of football, knocking individual players, bashing AVB into the ground and generally stuff which if you didn't know better would have you thinking we had started the season with two points from eight games.

There's no place for his sort on here. Who the fuck does he think he is? Fucking junkie. Anyone showing signs of sensibility, patience and optimism should be taken out the back and shot.

;)

Well you're definitely in the right place for all that! Stick around and there will be plenty more soon!

And if we do win it we've very likely played PL teams all the way through. You can feel the excitement building around the competition this year.

Now we have a bubble to burst and we have to do it without all that stress.

I still feel shattered this morning.

I've not read through the 91 pages but I can see why some people wouldn't be overly happy this morning.

Getting through on pens against a Hull side not at full strength is papering over cracks. A lot of the positive posters on here are saying 'who cares, we're through' or 'look at the table' but frankly the table isn't a fair reflection at this stage - it needs to be 20 games in before I'd get too excited.

Other than 2 goals from outside the box we created very little last night. The opening half hour wasn't bad at all, we moved the ball quickly and without too much of a cutting edge looked comfortable - I thought a second goal was coming & end of story.
But I really don't know what happened second half. We looked devoid of ideas.

There's no plan B at the moment and this 4231 doesn't seem to be working. I wouldn't mind if there were signs of it clicking but there isn't really. Sometimes you look at teams & performances and think 'we're about to give someone a good hiding' - not us, not at the mo.

It isn't exciting football and whilst we've got a number of new faces which need time to gel, we should expect to see things improving, giving us hope. Can we honestly say that's the case?

Too many on half term and unfortunately they don't remember those bad old cup campaigns embarassments
with the likes of Derby County, Forest and many more - too many more to mention.

'Tis a disposable football society we live in these days, to much FM and FIFA and not enough reality.

I would love to see a return to something like the "push and run" style of play which would mean short, quick passes and using the wings much more for crosses. The pace, which is slow right now, would pick up with less hoofing and heading of the ball and so many passes went astray last night. If Hull hadn't been so second rate, we probably wouldn't have been able to retrieve the ball so often and that just isn't going to happen with better teams.

I can't believe we are playing like this with the squad we have so it has to be down to tactics and formation problems.

We have been shit for most of my life. I was a young lad supporting the 90s teams. Even then... EVEN THEN, whilst I was close to tears a few times, I've never been bored to tears. This football is shocking, it's barely worth giving up an evening/afternoon for. It's like watching paint dry and has been since AVB arrived - no wonder Bale wanted out, he was the only player with the outright audacity to say to AVB he didn't want to play his tactics and wanted to have a free role.

People keep saying 'wait til we click' but this style of play isn't going to 'click' because the movement is crap. It's pass and move without the move. Paulinho has gotten worse over time, as has Dembele and Eriksen is going backwards.

I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say no players have actually improved under AVB bar Bale and Bale is the one who dictated his own position to AVB.

Well I do remember those days.
And what I also remember is our best 11 then was shit and expectation was low.

We, on paper at least, have a very strong squad now. Expectations are at their highest since Berkinshaw was in charge during the 80's and this is why fans are fed up.
The results, against very shit teams ate hiding how fucking terrible we've been.

Really do agree. We couldn't compete in the past. Now we've spent 100m and I expect better. I think that's normal when anybody makes a big investment and I'm sure the board feel the same. If after spending 100m we're still in the Europa or worse (considering the strength of Everton and Southampton), then I'd expect the manager to face the wrath. We've had a very favourable start - I expect us to be some way outside the top 4 after the next 4 league games if we continue with this brand of pedestrian football with a ropey backline.

This is my fear as well. The movement has been shocking since game one of AVB. Now nearly 18 months down the line it is still shocking. People can maybe suggest that AVB is holding something back until these wonder players in Eriksen and Lamela settled in and come good, but I think they may be in for disappointment.

Players cant improve anything, we have to wait till the penny drops with the coach...

Yeah. But. This is the sort of shit that wins leagues.
