Just back from the game and thought I'd put down a few thoughts.
We started out with a makeshift defence with a midfielder playing centre back our regular right centre back playing on the left and a right back playing left back, I'm not going to castigate Naughton but I've said before that he doesn't offer us anything, we lost Sandro to injury again and his natural replacement Capoue, was playing centre back.
It was clear Liverpool were attacking that week left side from early doors so they could see the weakness, personally I believe Chadli was played because we thought he'd offer more defensive support for our left back; I thought we should have played Fryers and Townsend at the start and I think it changed things for the better when we did that at half time, the score is irrelevant, once we'd gone down to 10 men we could either defend to keep it at two or at least try and have a go which we did, advantage of which they most certainly took.
The whole thing is not the meltdown everyone I've heard on the phone ins seem to think it is, we were seriously disadvantaged in a number of ways some of our own making but most forced upon us, that said I still think we were second best, Liverpool were up for it and on top of their game but with a full week's preperation and the opportunity to tag arsenal back to two points they were bound to be formidable, without doubt they deserved the win.

What did you expect with just Walker in defense from first eleven. Naughton mistake and overall quality of defense forced us to open up AND engage more players to defend. Do you really can think of many managers that would be able to win this match?
Take a look at a club you all love compare ourselves to - Arsenal.
Winning against Liverpool with Jenkinson, Sagna, Vermaelen, Monreal?

Sure, there is a loooot to blame AVB for, but it's not JUST his fault. Losing money just because we have some troubles is stupid. Also, we would end up with someone who may not be better than AVB and no winter improvements.

He has (when fit) four choices at center half and also Capoue as cover. Why does he want four CB's plus cover but at the same time keeps Rose as the only recognised left back at the club and sends out Bennie on a season long loan. Please explain to me how that makes sense? And that decision made by a so called top manager chasing a CL place? Have four CB's by all means but for fucks sake have two recognised LB's as well.

Rochdale have two recognised left backs, but little if any hope of making CL qualification anytime soon.

I don't understand when you have a centre back pairing of Capoue and Dawson who both lack pace that AVB plays the high line defence system. We were raped time and time again today by liverpools runners and were just left exposed.

The left back situation is just laughable really. Naughton is not a left back in fact I question how he is even a professional footballer. In my opinion our best left back plays for qpr

The balance in our midfield is just wrong. For me Dembele and sandro should be paired in the middle. 2 from Lennon, Lamela and Townsend as our flying wingers and then soldado with Defoe / eriksen

AVB also needs a plan B. Every sub he makes is generally like for like so means the opposition don't have a great deal to think about in terms of system changes.

AVB and his love for the Europa league - I get it I really do but he needs to be sensible about it....e.g. Did Dembele really need to play on Thursday night? Did sandro need to play? We had already won the group so why not rest these guys ahead of today's match instead of them coming into the game tired.

Not sure if I want him gone or not as I'm not sure who we could get to replace him. Either way someone needs to sort this shit out quickly whilst we are only 5 points off a champs league spot
This is my only complaint, that he's obsessed by the EL, but I do see that he uses it to bed players. The problem is that we lost Bale and felt we needed to spend the cash on a load of players new to the EPL. AVB has a Herculean task to bed them in, produce a cogent style, and keep the fickle home fans happy. He likes to play the high line, but so do Dortmund and Man City, yet he hasn't had the personnel all fit to play this. Today's was a makeshift defence and it came up against the best player in the EPL. The result was inevitable.

I think that you are very slow on the uptake. It has been obvious for years that, not only is God a gooner, but that he also totally and absolutely hates Spurs.
Is it because we are the yids?? I now agree with badiel. I think we should now have the nickname. The disciples. Di di dididididi di disciples!!!

Do you think his side will conceded another five in four games time?
I don't know: depends if they come up against a forward line like Liverpools and have to play with ten men and a makeshift defence. Do you like being smacked around the head on a regular basis by me?

It's got to the point now where I frankly don't even care if we win or lose because I know that under this manager the football will be piss poor and nothing short of amateurish at best.

I see nothing, NOTHING, in this team that suggests they are 'gelling' or even improving or gaining an understanding of what the manager wants, basically because he appears to send them out with no game plan, no pattern of play, no tactical awareness, or anything else you'd associate with a professional football team.

The decisions he makes regarding team selection just baffle me on a game by game basis.

Sigurdsson goes on a mini goal scoring run, then is dropped for about 6 games running.
Townsend rips it up for England, scores in his next game for us, and then is dropped for Lennon, who frankly had been bang average since returning to the XI.
Lamela shows glimpses of confidence and class in a Europa game, then doesn't get a minutes action until Man city away.
And on and on and on it goes.

Sorry AVB, time to go old son.

Can people not read tonight?

When has Wenger overseen a 6-0 & 5-0 within weeks of eachother???

And he may be a gooner but avb doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the
same breath as Wenger.
He's not fit to zip his extremely long coat up.
He's not comparable, but then it's not fair to compare them any more than it is to compare you to a sentient being.

A forward like like liverpools? Oh like they did a few weeks back? And they drew blanks?

And this forward line u speak so highly of, bar Suarez......Henderson, Sterling, and other fella. Right, I see what you mean, fantastic players they are. So great that before today had only won two away games. Oh I see your point.

Liverpool beat Norwich City 5-1, at Anfield (with Gerrard).

We lost to Liverpool 5-0, at White Hart Lane.

Now, we got dicked around by the ref a good amount..but honestly, if this doesn't say we need change, not sure what will.

Fucking go back and read my posts week in week out and get of your assumung high horse you ignorant belligerent twat.

oh so youve been shouting AVB on then until today, sorry ... So come on! who would you have as manager? and how long would your expert self give them? .. if you gave a manager like fergie 11 new players he'd be well pleased to finish 7th .. you talk crap to suit your bias. If your kid does shit at school do you blame the teacher? Avb does not make Walker mis kick it to Rooney, AVB does not make Dawson play half the game on his arse. You dont see or hear whats done and said day in day out in training, you have no clue who deserves or is fit to start games yet you sit there on yr fkn lappy knocking someone who knows more about football that you ever will.

SUPPORT your team!!

Don't think it's as bad as it's been made out.

AVB can't help missing our best center back pair and best and only good left back through injury - yes, Liverpool were missing a couple, but nowhere near as bad as we are missing ours.

Also, the ref needs to take some blame. Disallowed goal would've put us back in the game at 2-1. We then should have had a clear penalty, which, if scored, would have been 2-2. We then went and lost a player which greatly cost us.

One thing that does need to be sorted out if he does indeed stay is that we must start every match with the intention of winning. We cant just control it and then kick on in the second half, we need to go for those early goals. Whether that can happen, and whether AVB will rectify this is another question all together.

Edit: Just thought i'd add, as long as AVB is at this club I will support him (y)

It is truly amazing how anybody thinks AVB will bring this club success. Give the man a top 4 club, give him more money to spend than all but two of the clubs in the same league and what happens? We get raped by teams who previously finished below us and spent considerably less.
