Based on this we have to get a couple of people in, but more importantly remember we have a new manager! A bit of patience and acknowledgement that there will be some ups and downs for a while would be nice.

Didn't we say this about AVB......Sherwood?

Their defending has been superb today in general. Thinking what if we had broken the bank for Lovren

such a staggering change of pace. last week we looked golden, now we look terrified. nothing's changed except the opposition. meaning our players are scared of the big games

how the fuck are we going to be anything impressive when that happens

Our players are standing around. They make the pass and just watch. Everyone looking for the other guy to beat someone 1v1.

This is a big point, you hit the nail on the head. Townsend doesn't know the meaning of pass and move. Pass and stand is his thing, and he's not the only one.

I don't mind losing 0-3 if it had been end to end and we just didn't take our chances but we had 2 chances from long balls and literally nothing apart from that. Has Mignolet had a save to make 2nd half?

Taught a lesson today. Lacking in talent and game changers when we're facing a very good team. We'll be okey this year but on this performance will struggle against the top 5 teams. We need the whole team to be on it unfortunately - few slackers and it goes to pot without the Bale's off this world

Lamela loses the ball a bit because he actually tries to make something happen going forward but gets no support. Rest of team is content with playing side and back passes all game.

Just don't see what he offers. Where the tenacity that a defensive midfielder needs? Sandro chases all day whereas Capoue seems to take a touch and pass sideways.

But Sandro of late, apart from his injuries, is extremely rash and IMO ventures too far forward for a DM.
