RODGERS: "We had 65% possession tonight. To me, that's more important than goals."

L O L

He may aswell have said "To me, that's more important than winning."

I'm guessing AVB's comments will be "hrrrrrrrrrrr immense hrrrrrrrrrrrr extreme physicality hrrrrrrrrr"

Some of you need to go to bed!! Man u play shit and win, they have a winning mentality. We play shit and win, we're shit FFS, be happy we've got 3 points and a win over L'Pool (y)

Sure, we played a Get-Out-Of-Jail card again and AVB's earned himself some breathing space, and, sure, a win over Liverpool is not to be sniffed at, by any means (although our home EPL record against them is actually pretty good—11W, 5D, 5L). However, this is the same attitude as the 'Lloris saved us from getting totally stuffed, so everything's OK' that we had after the Lazio game last week. Sure, you have to factor in injuries, those to Benny and Kaboul in particular, and the loss of Modric and VdV, but we still have one of the best squads in the EPL, and our starting XI tonight was certainly at least the equal of Liverpool's. At Anfield, I'd have been happy with our showing, but at the Lane? No.

Although I feel it will change IF AVB is backed in Jan. How hard is it to get this current bunch of players to not drop deep. It's a simple case of saying... Don't drop deep; no more, no less.

He needs to embed a hunger into the team, where (like we do first 20 mins) grab the opposition by the throat but instead of letting go... We have to go for the kill whilst they are shocked.

It's no good ripping them apart gaining a 2 goal lead and resting on our laurels. I don't know where this stems from but it's ridiculous... We could of carried on at them and got 3 or 4 I feel the way we was going. It's definitely psychological - Need some leaders out there

This is why we need to start getting Carroll in the team on a more regular basis. He shows for the ball in a way that none of our current first teamers do. Puts them to shame with it really. Our lack of intelligent movement depresses me.
Its Dembele and Sandro with Parker as back up so i dont think thats going to happen

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers: "I don't know what Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez have to do get a penalty. It was bordering on assault on Gerrard [Reds appealed when Gerrard was challenged by Mousa Dembele in the first half].

Yeah alright you shark faced mug

To be fair I think we do need to give some credit to Liverpool. I thought their pressing game was excellent but they were let down by a couple of penalty shouts which could (maybe should?) have gone their way and a general lack of quality in the final third. Imagine a Liverpool performance like that but with better players and they could make a comeback.

The difference once again was our quality in Gareth Bale.

Our defence is a disaster. We need to look at other combinations. I'd like to see Dawson and Vertogen start a few games as a starting partnership. One thing for certain, Gallas has no business starting games for us. Caulker should be ahead of him in the pecking order.

Can't wait for parker to come back. We need a decent pair of bollox out there. We seemed to lack fight at times, and that's ridiculous considering that we probably have the best athletes in the league. Sandro is going to find it hard to keep Parker out of the team if he puts in more of these sort of performances.

Can someone explain to me why we aren't putting pressure on teams in the middle third of the pitch? I Understand not pressing high up but we seem to be giving teams hours of time in midfield to make plan. This just isn't going to cut it. Only in one sequence did we go out there and look like we want to fight for the ball, and guess what happened? We got it back. That should be our attitude for the full game.

Dempsey shouldn't be starting any games for us. He's just soooo poor. It's like playing with 10 men at times. Play Siggy till Jan and then sign someone in Jan.

we need to start playing Adebayor. Defoe can be used as an impact player like last season. In games like this we need someone who can take the fight to the CB's and Defoe just isn't that man.

All in all, thank god for the 3 points. We're getting closer and closer to the top 4.
