Last season we had two players who could control the tempo of the game, this year we have no one. Also when Liverpool's little striker isn't scoring he is a pain in the arse, when our little striker isn't scoring he may as well be sitting on his arse on the bench.

Great 3 points but these last two victories do not gloss over the fact we are still bang average.

Love it. I now have the oppurtunity to mercilessly wind up 3 bindippers who I have the misfortune of being friends with.

My analysis:

We were quality, very highly quality for about 65% of the game. Bale was absolute class and a joy to watch, Dembele was brilliant and our front line was moving up quickly. The problem I have with this game is in the other 45%. When teams are pressing that highly, with our formation and speed on the wings, we should be able to get counter-attacks going. I'm not sure if the issue is fitness, but there is an issue. We should be much more effective at reversing the play in these situations.
Agree. (apart from the 65% bit no way!)

The way we're set up; if (in theory) we go up in a game we should pick teams off at will on the counter with Bale and Lennon tearing it down. There isn't anyone getting their heads up and picking them out with lovely balls to run onto though (Modric cough)

A brilliant 3 points - if maybe, we only deserved the draw.
Gallas on Suarez was never a foul...so shut up commentators.
Bale got fouled that was not a dive...can that be rescinded?

And that Suarez miss near the end? How far out was the ball the Pool boy hooked back?!?!

At the end of the day a great 3 points and the usual missing pieces, I hope, are becoming glaringly obvious for AVB.

Put simply:
- Gallas - I appreciate your effort, I really do - but please no more. Get Verts in at CB with Daws until all fit.
- We miss the ability of Ade to hold the ball up big time.

We're doing OK with a team that is not the best that is available - and for that AVB should be applauded - we're in the mix and when we get Kaboul, BAE, Dembele, Ade, Parker all up and running we'll finish the season stronger than we started it.

Totally agree mate - AVB will be counting the days for those players to come back. Poor bloke, all the pressure and only half a team to work with. It's gonna be great when they're all playing.

Stop moaning you spoilt kids, ffs we have just beaten a side who were full of confidence who were unbeaten in 8. Yes it was far from a perfect performance but look at who we have out. We are only 3 points off third with just over a month to go before the transfer window opens where we will surely strengthen.

Onwards and upwards, stop moaning and rejoice that we have just beaten the self pitying, always the victim, work shy *****!!!

Disagree, we had a good 20 mins I think and found ourselves 2-0 up, after that it went downhill. Liverpool had golden chances in the first half, even before the siege of our goal started.

Dembele, along with Sandro, was absolute cack I thought. Very rusty.

It's not totally his fault but imo he has to accept some of the blame for these performances.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. Luckily he'll get the opportunity to make up for it this weekend, but Fulham aren't a push over team this season, but I can only hope their form will dwindle against us and AVB get a chance to prove his worth.

Marginally, but no defender can look 100% comfortable when the rest of the team just switches off for 45 minutes.
He also made a few crucial interceptions/tackles in the second half, especially the one late on on Suarez, although he caused that problem himself by misjudging the ball over the top. All the back four made errors tonight, so it wasn't just any one persons fault that we looked a bit shakey back there.

3 Points from 3rd.

Yep, i didnt spot that as my immediate reaction was "how far from 4th?". Just illustrates how far Chelsea have slumped since their good start- hopefully this continues (both Chelsea slide and Spurs rise) with our injured stars returning I am  tonight!

Some of you need to go to bed!! Man u play shit and win, they have a winning mentality. We play shit and win, we're shit FFS, be happy we've got 3 points and a win over L'Pool (y)

Man Utd have been playing shit for God knows how long and they've been winning titles.

Happy with the 3 but there is a general concern that we sit back let other teams take the initiative especially in the 2nd half. Even the first half we looked nervous.

Can't wait for Kaboul, BAE and Ade to get back.

We stopped playing after the second goal; very little pressing and sat back whilst maintaing a high line!?!
A few results are papering over the cracks in our inept performances!
