It's ridiculous we start with two holding mids at home to a side like Norwich, but it's terrifying that we are still wide open at the back half the time.

I'm not sure Sigurdsson is that great, Livermore is bang average and Defoe is never a lone striker. He needs to be strictly the impact sub.

Villas-Boas' tactical decisions are looking absolutely shocking so far.

I need more excitement than this. I'm going to spend the second half watching paint dry.

The only positive I can think of is that we played well in the first half of the other two games and didn't get a lot out of the games. Maybe this time we'll play shit (yes it was shit) in the first half and get a result after 90 minutes. Dembele coming on at half time should lift the crowd. AVB needs to be bold at half time this week, it's not like we are outplaying the opposition like we did last weekend.

On a side note, I can't believe Dawson isn't even making the bench with Gallas putting in performances like this.

its being treated too much like a game of chess, a pass to b pass to c etc, needs more fluidity... tactics are too rigid, they don't allow for individual thought..

I see the same thing, we looked far too coached. There is no chance for players to have free play, make runs, do something nasty.

Agree with all that except the Modders comment, he created almost 100 goalscoring chances for us last season, almost twice as many as Dembele.

I don't know the stats, and I should rephrase. He set up plays, but I think some here put him in the same vein as Xavi or Pirlo. To me he was never that player. He linked the back to the attack, but lacked that breath taking factor. He had it all but there were times I felt he held himself back with beig too safe.

I think that's crazy. You don't spend money and hire new managers/backroom guys to write off a whole season because it takes a few weeks to gel. You may have to adjust your system, but writing off games and not be arsed to put effort in is unnacceptable, may aswell tell the stadium to stay home.

Try reading it again, if that's not beyond your abilities. I said nothing of the sort.
