A defense of Dunne and Ferdinand could be ripped apart with Lennon and Townsend. Though perhaps Lennon to come on late against ageing tiring legs if need it is a good thing.

The bit I dont get is how would he know that, Capoue hardly played last season, Bentaleb does press very well, Lamela didnt play last season. I agree with you thought we will find out for certain by mid season.

Yeah, a fresh start this year, players need to be judged accordingly.

I think we are average and have gone backwards.

We were very fortunate against west ham and today I can only see much of the same.

Inept and stale going forward.

FYI in the elbow rooms and will be making my way to the ground in about 15 mins and allmy mates here think the same as me.
I have a group that you and "all your mates" can attend...

They're called the Order of the Solar Temple, and i think you might like them.

It's a bit of a shame that we don't have more pace in the attack. A defensive trio of Dunne, Caulker and Ferdinand is ripe for pillaging.

I must admit, that is my only issue aswell, if Chadli can make the diagonal clever run then Lamela or Eriksen will find him with a killer pass. Adebayor has got to show more movement today, he needs to run across the line & give the defenders a headache.

Former Blackburn striker Jason Roberts, BBC Radio 5 live summariser at White Hart LaneTottenham v QPR (13:30 BST)
"The question is: What does Mauricio Pochettino have to do to be judged a success at Tottenham? Many people would say he needs a top-four position, but if you look at what other clubs have done in the transfer market this summer, it doesn't look like he has the kind of squad to challenge.

"I don't think he's got the team playing with the high intensity and pressure he had at Southampton. I think that will be difficult with the squad he has."
Just read this bit from Jason Roberts, with the last sentence is he trying to say that we havent got as good a squad as Southampton had last year........! Pundits are genuinely complete thickos at time!!

I agree with the last bit. He didn't say Southampton have a better squad just one more adept to playing a high tempo pressing game. Our last 2 managers wanted to play a high line high pressing game but the players couldn't do it

Think the thread "Have we been left behind?" Has been answered with that line up.

I think we will struggle to beat QPR at home let alone challenge for champions league places and trophies.

7th place beckons. Very disappointing isn't it.
My first ever spam rating I think. Didn't want to do that but your post is utter shite when we have a new management team, two wins out of two and a squad full of internationals with potentially a few more to come this week. And we kick off In half an hour for our first home game of the season

All the minging going on about Bentaleb, again.. I'd rather him than Paulinho on current form. I think it's a big game for Chadli if anyone. Been given a chance today, will he take it...?

Right this is my last post until after the match.

I can't believe the level of happy clappers on here.

So you all rate bentelab, capoue, Kaboul, chadli worthy of a place in the first team of a champions league challenging club? Do me a favour.

The only top players we have in this line up is Lloris and Eriksson, maybe Ade if he decides to turn up.

Massive question marks over Lamela. I'm sorry I've seen nothing from him

But dare I question our strategy? I believe we have gone backwards. That is all.

Coys.

I'm coming to meet you. You lot seem like a great fun bunch to drink with.

Be along shortly. Have you got enough razor blades and rope or do you need me to bring some?

I don't think he's saying that.

I think he's saying Southampton's squad/team were better equiped to play high intensity pressing game, and i think he has a point as looking at their squad in the key areas they are all agile, and mobile, not sure we are quite there yet.

But we certinaly have better technical players, now Poch just needs to try and marry the two.

Goes to show how our squad is functionally too big.

Would love to know the true injury/fitness status of Paulinho
