Not to worried by the team selection but the signing of dier is already paying dividends now naughton isn't available. I really think a quick direct left winger is needed before the transfer window shuts should be our main priority now as we start that old trick of shoe horning players into that position. Would Davies left back with rose ahead be in the managers head in the future do you think? I'd defo try it in a Europa league/league cup game.
Anyway come on you lillywhites three points a must.

Some serious height in our team today...Verts, Kaboul, Dier, Capoue, Chadli and Adebayor.

Slightly surprised Kane didn't start in place of Chadli and Adebayor needs to step it up but on the whole, I'm fairly happy with that team.

Defence practically picked itself with Dier shifting across and Davies hasn't done anything of note to usurp Rose.

Capoue and Bentaleb are given time to develop their understanding and again, I'm not convinced that Holtby, Dembele or anyone else should be in above them and Mason will probably go out on loan.

Very pleased to see Chadli in ahead of Lennon and really like that trio behind Adebayor although it remains to be seen whether Soldado or Kane is introduced to give added impetus in the last 25 mins or so or that we are floundering up front with little cutting edge which has been all too prevalent at home in recent times.

2nd league game and the 2nd week of the season, why the negativity? If this was November/December fine, but we're still in August and the transfer window is still open FFS.

Exactly The team underperformed last season and we nearly hit 70pts .. that's reason to be optimistic. Poch is a far more mature manager than AVB and Sherwood . A system and a tactically astute manager could make all the difference to us. We can do this! ... Goaldado on for the winner!
