Did I read somewhere that Lamela's family moved to London in the last week? He looked a lot more relaxed tonight, hopefully really start firing now!

LOL what more do people want? i dont know WHEN some of you lot got so self entitiled....its not like we were smashing teams like sheriff 10-0 in the last 5 years. I distinctly remember us losing 1-0 to rubin kazan at the lane a few years ago under 'arry (god bless his soul for what he did for us) but today we looked miles better. more willing to run at the opponents and actually playing the final pass. lamela looked like a 30m pound player tonight. eriksen showed glimpses of the qualit we know he has and JD broke chivers' record. I can only imagine some of you lot will still complain if we won this whole competition. :cautious:

That's right Gordon, there's no holes....so spin and go in. All you gotta do is spin and go in. Idiot

So we have a 100% record in Europe this year, qualify with games to spare, record signing MOTM and looking class, new all time record holder in Europe.

And people moan.

It was lovely to see some width tonight. And crosses with it. The players swapped sides and positions well enough.

Lamela capoue veronghen kaboul walker dembele above average.
Defoe Eriksen Sigurdsson naughton friedel average/below average

So Kaboul waving his arms about for the goal was brads fault? There that usual favouritism bullshit.

Seriously the defoe slating is silly. He just broke a record remember..

It doesn't paper over the fact that it was another abysmal performance from him though. The amount of times Eriksen, Lamela, Dembele looked up to play him in and he was standing with 4 defenders between him and the goal was ridiculous. He just doesn't have the brains to play upfront for us.

Fair play to him for breaking the record and that, but we may as well have played with 9 men and an OAP.

We have played nearly a quarter of the season and we don't look any better erikson is gash soldado looks lost and our manager can't provide a plan b still.[/quote]

A quarter of a season?

SHIT.DONT.HAPPEN.OVERNIGHT

I do understand the gripe about AVB not having a plan B though. We're yet to see that. But again he's a young manager and he'll make mistakes.

My view with AVB is - if we still haven't improved at this point next season he would have failed. That won't happen IMO. We'll only get better. For me that is obvious.

He needs to be given time. He has a clear philosophy and at the moment we're not seeing the finished product.

We're 2nd in the league and qualified for the Europa knock outs with 2 games to spare. Give it time.

By far my fav game of our yet.(y)
Mine has to be the Cardiff game and the last minute cheeky goal by Paulino.

I am amazed we haven't played the same since then, as it was wave after wave of attack.

Was a good night tonight though and as I said before, we actually attacked from the wing as well as from the middle and we are starting to look better for it.

I love that Sigurdsson/Naughton combination, I love it more than I love sticky buns...

It's right up there with the all too brief Edman/Atouba link up.

Ever the gentlemen, I think we abandoned that combo in order to give the opposition a fair chance.

Strachan spot on there.

Tactics get you so far but players win you games.

Lets get Townsend and Lamela running at players.

He was spot-on in the pre-game when he talked about defoe and why it was likely that he wasn't getting starts. Gotta give him props on that one as everyone else seems to have shit in there eyes in when it comes to JD and appear baffled as to why he isn't the first name on the sheet.

Yeah I believe they did, although whether it was actually moved or just visiting for a spell I'm not sure.

Nicely taken goal and a great run for the pen tonight, also the kind of dribbling we have been missing - forward into the box and actual danger areas!

Positives
Lamela had a cracking game. Tonight we have seen the first sustained glimpse of the talent he really is

Kaboul was a monster at the back (he may have been slightly at fault for the goal - I wasn't paying enough attention). His presence is so reassuring. He makes me feel like Mena Suvari's character does with Oz striker

The wingers SWAPPED POSITIONS! Finally! Praise the Lord. Crosses into the box pleased me a great deal

Capoue had a very solid 60mins defensively. Adds a bit of pace in the pass too but as we saw, hit a couple of tame over-the-tops

Walker - willing running and a good game

FANS - sounded bloody great on TV. Well done y'all

Disappointments
Thought Mousa was a bit sloppy tonight despite some strong moments

As with Mousa, Eriksen showed flashes of potential but was not the consistent influence I was hoping for during the game

Naughton. Poor lad. RB at LB and it continues to show. The facet that really upsets me is the constant cutting in and narrowing the pitch but it's no surprise given his natural foot

Paulinho running into the box made that goal, static over clinical play won't get goals, more risk with the final ball please..
