I am not criticizing he seasonal play, just that he wasted a chance to put the game out of reach by not passing. It's not the first time and won't be the last. I am a big a fan as anybody of Kane but Poch really needs to work with him on this part of his game.
I know you and I haven't exactly agreed in the past, but well done for having th balls to say that. We have had a number of situations when a pass was on. The last shot he took today was OK, but there were two players in the box to whom a fast pass may have worked. He also could have passed to Eriksen. He has to realise that we are now a team and he doesn't have to be Bale.

Newcastle must win on Sunday if Sunderland don't win on Wednesday

When a shit team must win they should be picked off at ease

I won't blame Mason but we didn't have the drive and creativity we have with Alli and Dembele, they pressed us in the midfield and it worked, we lost the ball too often, they would have been less successful if the beast was playing.
Disappointed but pleased to see most of the crowd stayed behind for the lap of honour, would have been a party if we'd won but we'll have that next week no doubt.

Disappointment is inevitable today.. But the team being criticised for not putting them to bed was an overstatement IMHO.. We tried, but teams like Soton, WBA, leicester etc, they really used 9 men in front of the keeper to defend their goal, leaving only one runner up front to take advantage of any balls they could have gotten running behind our CBs.. We have always had such difficulties facing such teams.. We played technically brilliant football, but we do need to be street smart too in winning certain games against such teams in the ugly way.. Possession and shots stats are fucking useless against such teams..

And I really wish Poch could have gotten the fullbacks to cross more and improve on the quality of them.. Nothing will pile more pressures into such tight lock teams other than crosses into the 18 yard box.. Practically any team will lapse once or twice in handling these crosses, and we at least have some outside chances of pouncing on those lapses..

We have done really well this year but the fact remains we will get a max of 73 points which is not amazing progress on the AVB era... I think we need to be careful and investment is players is really key.. We have players going to the Euros and Coppa America so I am worried about our start to the season...

It really won't. I'll be absolutely gutted and the Arsenal fans will be unbearable for a while, but once the dust has settled we will still be in the CL next season.

Meh, wont see or hear from them until the season starts again...

Said it ages ago. If he looked for a pass more often the defenders would have more than just blocking a shot to think about and it would actually gain him more space. At the time a lot of people replied that he should shoot as often as he liked.

The guys scored 28 goals this season and many of them from positions he had no right to so how he wants to play is fine by me. All great strikers are greedy that's why they score a lot of goals but I agree he needs another striker for one to keep him on his toes and another to share the load.

I've got a horrible feeling about this coming week. Any team would have problems loosing 2 off their best players, what's so frustrating is both are out through their own doing

Think it's clear that our biggest issue is a lack of squad depth.

Kane needs some competition up front, he becomes so complacent at times and his constant shooting from silly angles is detrimental to the team. Twice today he ignored Lamela who was in a much better position than him.

I could honestly call Ryan Mason every name under the sun. He is so far from being at our required level. He just isn't good enough. We need another CM.

Chadli also needs replacing. That missed chance at the end was unnacceptable.

A few days off for the players then a clear the heads team meeting ahead of a last big push next week.
It might also be worth freshening up the team somehow. I don't know if it's already been said and I know our bench options are limited but against West Brom and again today I thought it might have been worth bringing on Kieron Trippier for his delivery & fresh legs down the right hand side.

If you're going to compare seasons and era's then you don't use point tallies. The league every season has different teams with various strengths and weaknesses and it's obvious this season that it was a tough league.

It's becoming clearer who needs to be shifted now imo.

Fazio, Carroll, Mason, Chadli I think. We should keep faith in Bentaleb and Njie for now.

Bring in one, maybe two midfielders, a striker and another winger.
