In the summer we really need to address:

Striker alternative for Kane
Some else who can unlock packed defences other than CE
Back up for Dier / Dembele
The massive gap between our first 11 and bench / back up players which this game and the Europa League flagged up

knew it was going to be a bad day the minute I saw the ref, and proved right.

1st goal for them play should of been stopped for a HEAD injury, the rest of the game he continued to be shit, him and his elfs

Lloris' kicking horrendous again today, you'd think he'd have been working on it. If anything it's got worse since he first joined us.

He's a great keeper and we are lucky to have him.

But his distribution is the reason he isn't up there with the top tier keepers in world football IMO.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry after that really. I thought the first half was bad, the second was just a miserable experience. I actually felt angry, not for losing a football match, but there was just such a lack of urgency and intent and we couldn't even wake up when falling behind.

Sky put up a graphic saying the shot count was nearing 20, but they can fuck off with that. One of the occasions when stats are telling lies. We were just trying to walk the ball in the net, and lethargically at that.

The season really is petering out now, and if we had, and continue to have, ambitions of being at the very top and winning things then its not the reaction and performances to show in the last couple of weeks. Needs one final big 90 mins up at Newcastle next weekend now, because I'm not going to lie I will be annoyed if we blow 2nd and cant even get North London bragging rights. It might have been a good 97% of the season, gotta keep going and smash our way through the finishing line. We're wobbling badly as the end is in sight.

We were so obvious in attack, so crap in defence (have we forgotten how to mark the opposition? ) and we need to play to the end of the season!! I cant say how gutted I am.........sick to the stomach.......

Still delighted we threw the Europa...

As it stands, despite our good season, Palace and Liverpool could both end up with more to show once everything is done.
We have champions league.. I can only wish liverfool all the best..

I'll keep telling myself we are young and the future is bright.

However the three most telling moments of the season for me:
-Trip back from Azerbaijan
-Tony Pulis (I don't know why we can't beat him ever)
-Looking like we just fought in Normandy after that Chelsea game.

We are tired and maybe mentally checked out when it seems like there isn't much to play for from a players perspective. Just for sake of argument, players maybe subconsciously telling themselves "we made champs league, job well done."

Poch on the other hand, will see this as a moment to grow from, as important as last week.

We need a Payet type. Eriksen doesn't do it enough as good as he is

Exactly, we are so desperate for a creative spark in these home games. All the other top teams have at least one; ozil, KDB, hazard, coutinho, Mahrez. Eriksen is great but he isn't that player, and neither is Lamela.

It's not just the result though, after the title race, and Chelsea, their was a lot of attention on us today. And now we will get the same old Spurs tag, despite all the epic work we have put in this season. So frustrating.

After the season We have had its sad that the old tottenham decided to rock up into town after we saw the new one on monday.

Brace yourselves for the 'Tottenham legends' bores. We've done anything but bottle it

The lads must be emotionally drained after the week they've had, the eventually fruitless pursuit of the the title after the intensity and effort they put into reeling in Leicester, months of hard work in the end didn't reap it's rewards and it must be a body blow

Take out the frustrations on the barcodes next week and prepare to blitz the league next season

I think City will give them a good tonking today. 2 more hours and we've finished above them

Look on the brightside:
We have CL football, and the recent performances have done a great service in thoroughly dampening the OTT expectations we will win the PL title next year. (We can, of course, win the PL title next year but the way some have been talking it was a done deal!).

I'll worry about not finishing ahead of Arse later in the day if I need to.

Look, the bigger issue is what these types of performances portend for the start of next season. We need to remember that not only is Dembele going to miss the first four matches, but we'll have 5 players away with England, 4 away with Belgium, Lamela at Copa America, and Son at the Olympics. You have to worry about a sluggish start to next year's campaign at this stage and plan accordingly in the transfer market.

It's been that way since the Palace game, every major test we faced, from that game, to the Dortmund, Arsenal, West Ham games we have fallen short. That winning mentality, that clincal edge just isn't there yet, there are so many similarities between this and the Redknapp era side in that regard.
It's a limited squad, to be fair, but I can't help but agree that we have buckled on numerous occasions when the heat was on. We looked scared when we played West Ham.
