That's what's been missing in the run in
I really, really, really hate to say this - I can't say how much I hate to say it - but it probably comes down a bit to who is leading out on the pitch when the going is tough. Lloris is my favourite Spurs player for years, and seems like one of the best players and men out there, but he's on the quieter side as far as captains go and really can't have too much of a say from in the defensive half. Toby and Jan aren't exactly inspiring leaders, and everyone else is young. We don't have that Scott Parker/Wes Morgan figure to take the ball and drive it forward when we need a bit of a kick up the arse.

Mentally and physically burnt out.

Don't expect anything from the Newcastle game so it's all on City today.

Agree. We've made great strides, we're way ahead of schedule but we're desperate for some individual brilliance.
And, quite frankly, we just need a better, stronger bench.

We can't allow ourselves to be so hobbled when we don't have dembele available.

It just can't happen.

Poch needed to bring Toby into midfield, or even winks - who's a battler - but he kept Mason on who, although he had made some very nice passes forward in his time on, was just too lightweight and slow tracking back,

Winks at least would have brought great energy and effort to the cause for the last 30 mins or so.

Poch really has to improve his in-game decision making irt personnel.

Brace yourselves for the 'Tottenham legends' bores. We've done anything but bottle it

The lads must be emotionally drained after the week they've had, the eventually fruitless pursuit of the the title after the intensity and effort they put into reeling in Leicester, months of hard work in the end didn't reap it's rewards and it must be a body blow

Take out the frustrations on the barcodes next week and prepare to blitz the league next season

To be fair since the New Year we've pretty much failed every major test thrown at us. Definitely something we need to improve on.

If Arsenal finish above us now, I will stop caring and worrying. I just can't take this any longer, it's having an adverse effect on my health, believe me when I say it.
I love the club to bits but my health comes first.

Kane has played about 60 straight league games in a row without relief. Not sure how he can be blamed for being a bit fatigued.

He can be blamed for not passing to people for open goals and going for stupid shots though. He isn't immune from criticism. Imo, he wants to make sure he gets the golden boot so was the most selfish I've ever seen him.

There's no Bale to dig us out of a performance like this with a last minute screamer.

Can we buy one though? Not sure there are players like that available.

Perhaps playing in over 30 degree heat after 3 night games and the emotional draining of the Chelsea result took its toll. We dominated early but were visibly knackered and gone for all money after 30 minutes.

Just putting it out there, he says.... clutching at straws

The title right there.

And this with (i think) the best defence in the PL.

I am concerned with Walker, Erksen, and the need for a forward worth a shit to support Kane. Possible a Modric Mk2 to support and share the workload with Dembele.

A lot of pundits say that Leicester will struggle next season now teams know how they play, well Koeman has already sussed us.

As our Chairman said...

"A second season under Mauricio and his coaching staff has seen the team achieve far more than we had anticipated. This was a season that saw us go a Club record 14 Premier League games unbeaten and challenge for the title right up until this week. With a blend of youth and experience we have seen a squad built for the future."

and still some of you are on the verge of slitting wrists over today's game.
Nobodies 'slitting throats' but you can't shy away from the fact that we're finishing this campaign on a complete downer coupled with several below par bordering appalling performances which could well let our nearest and dearest finishing above us yet again!

That might well be trivial in the grand scheme of things but mentally, it's underlines the notion that we don't get the job done/bottle it, whatever terminology you wish to use - that's not a tag this young group need.

has to be said ...Pochetinho does not make good substitutions or meaningful changes in tactics... When we are flying we are good but we have lots to improve on for next season.

He's a great keeper and we are lucky to have him.

But his distribution is the reason he isn't up there with the top tier keepers in world football IMO.

While undoubtedly very good I can't help but think he has been poor at crucial times this season and as a GK those are the times that count.

I don't wish to be negative, but on around £60k+ a week, I'm really not sure emotionally drained comes into it!!

I think that well and truly puts to bed the insinuation that Kane is allowed to shoot from all angles "because he's a goal scorer."

I'll take the team winning over him scoring, thanks. I don't want him to continually pass but his greed is beyond a joke now, and it tends to always be Lamela as the nearest onlooker.

Scum (League Cup), Dortmund (EL), Scum at home down to 10 men (Prem), Chelsea away (Prem), Palace ( FA Cup) and today. All big meaningful ties and we managed to lose or draw every single one of them.

We have come a long way with a young squad, but we have to start being ruthless and kill teams off. At the start of last season we needed to buy an experienced CM, one with a winning mentality and medals in he bank, and a striker as backup to Kane. If we manage that this summer we should be able to push on next year.

Still a great season, CL next year! COYS!!!!!!

I actually think today and the last few games will actually benefit us for us next season because I hope it will dampen expectations for next season. We are a long way from the side that some suggest we are and hopefully talk of us being title challengers now disappears because any side that is 10 points behind the winners isn't really that.
