We fans don't deserve this. Honestly we don't. We all CLEARLY see what the problems are and still these problems are not being rectified.

When will they (Levy, Poch and anyone who has a say in the team tactics, transfers etc etc) learn?

And that is why I am slowly losing my passion for this team (pains me to say) we care so much and see what is going on I just find it baffling how us fans even non spurs fans, pundits etc can see what the problems are and yet nothing is being done.

In no way this is a knee jerk reaction because we see it time and time again.

Todays performance was THE perfect example describing our current situation as a football club.

The only thing I can hope for is maybe this can trigger something in Levys or Pochettinos head that we desperately need a striker in ASAP (just offer that bloody £18-20m offer to West Brom for SB) an experienced CM leader that is tbh THE most important position to sort out and we haven't (spursy).

You know what, I can go on and you guys can practically know what I will say because we all share the same sentiments. After all the reason for this is because we care for our club. So people who share there views in a more negative way I completely understand because this is something we are used to seeing (which is a shame).

Regarding today I felt for 80% of the game we were solid and were always in control. But once there is a SNIFF of added pressure from any opposition we then tend to fold.

Vertonghen in my eyes, we actually tend to forget is our most experienced CB and team member. He has been a huge disappointment because he should be the one to rally the players when we concede or start showing signs of heads dropping but what I notice with him is he goes missing as soon as the going gets tough.

Eriksen as much as I love the player has been literally and I mean literally a ghost in todays game and quite frankly most games of recent. Why not take him off for Alli for his debut who would have for sure been fired up or even bloody Carroll? (now in my eyes that is common sense thinking, WHY doesn't Poch think this?)

Mason had a brilliant game. Was at heart of almost everything and played with full of passion. Why take him off for a player (bentaleb) in my eyes deserved to have been dropped and possibly not been brought on and when he did come did not help the team at all with his half hearted distribution.

Funny thing is I keep saying to myself (I mentioned it above) that I'm losing passion for this team. I obviously ain't lol because I wouldn't of bloody wrote all this shit.. It's just getting to a point where enough is enough now.

I've a massive problem with pochettino only being able to play one way.

They made 2 subs which changed the game and he did nothing to counter it. It's not the first time he's not reacted to another team's substitutions and won't be the last.

We've no plan b or nous to mix it up.

He needs to bring in an experienced defensive midfielder. Trouble is, the chairman won't buy him one.
To dare is too dear.

This is the last thing is say about Lamela. He's a European player. What I mean by that is that he can only perform in Europe. He cannot do it domestically at all, and it's why he performs best in the group stage of the EL. I think we should give him this season, then if he doesn't perform, he's gone.
He is not suited to the english game.

I cannot imagine Poch is happy with one striker and no recongised DM. That is Levys job to provide.

Didnt watch the game but just seen the score and read last few posts.

So i am assuming Lamela gave away the penalty and was at fault for the second due to amount of stick he is getting for playing 30 minutes.
Yeah man, it was crazy, Lamela totally Insceptioned Toby into giving away a penalty.

They were well in the game before the penalty.

Even if they hadn't gotten it they probably would have scored another way, as we weren't dealing with the threats.

No. The only way they were getting into that game is if we let them. And we basically served it up for them.

Not the first time Poch has made some odd substitutions.

Too early to judge him yet. But assuming Levy actually buys some players to give him a decent squad then he will need to up his game.

He is quite negative and his football is very similar to AVB. Hope that changes!

said exactly this to the guy I sit next to today. As he said Lamela is meant to be that player! Sadly it just doesn't look like it's going to work out for Lamela!
He might end up being a decent player in a few years, 'decent' being the key word. We need a Ginola, or a VDV level player, none of our current creative players are even close to that level.

Read the thread, I've sat here and read all from the final whistle. No we shouldn't ignore, but we shouldn't make him the scapegoat when many of our team went completely missing. But I'm guessing you like many others made your mind up before he even came on.
Ha. The classic, if you think Lamela was poor then you've already made up your mind. Just making pathetic assumptions.

I've read the thread, not one person has said the result was down to him. He was brought on with the hope he'd make a positive impact, he didn't and people aren't happy with that. But as usual, the fanboys won't accept that. Now Soldados gone, it seems he's going to be the new Poor Erik, where it's never his fault, it's everything else around him.

No. We created many chances.

Then we fucked it up and bottled the last 15mins.

You're a cheerful person aren't you?

Kane scores to make it 3-0 in that period after half time and you're bored with nothing to moan about this evening.
Are you serious? Umm so you are cheerful after that? Don't make it personal, it's classless.

Yeah, I was perfectly content with the performance untill the last 20 minutes or so. It's the 2nd game of the season, it takes a while to get going and we still need new players in. But those 20 minutes... My word...

Our strategy is based on luck and hope, which is far too risky to seek any kind of progression.

How many of the the top 20 Rich clubs try to compete with one inexperienced striker? Absolutely laughable.

Completely agree.

But the defensive midfielder only papers over the cracks of tactical naivety.

Correct, but for 5/10 minutes, not for a whole fucking half against a mid table side.

The manager has just got to see the source of the problem and deal with it in time. They were whipping in dangerous cross after dangerous cross and were killing us out wide.

We should have pushed up higher to keep dangerous wide players away from the goal, played wider to deny the space out there, and taken Eriksen off for Bentaleb to cover any gaps in the centre of the park. Dier DM, Mason and Nabil CMs.

If that doesn't work and we can't press then just put up two banks and just sit on it with some structure, get Rose or Trippier on further forward to deal with wide threats.

We weren't outplayed for the whole half, yes most of it but they needed an unforced error to make a breakthrough.

'Mid table' sides like Stoke, Everton and Swansea will be very tough opponents this season.

Fully agree Poch had a bad day however those punishing subs were due to our poor preparation as much as anything. Kane 'tired' with no direct replacement and no quality option to replace the excellent Mason. Bentaleb in poor form sadly.

His work on dier in preseason looked to be working to be fair.

Hughes subs were conversely very good and he deserved the point.

It's clear from these two games that we have plenty of quality and most of the time seemed more solid, but at the same time we still make poor errors and lack leadership and winning mentality, which is an unfortunate side effect of having such a young side.

Dissappointed with Lamela but very pleased with Mason. Let ourselves down last 20 mins otherwise it was ok. Roll on Pritchard being available.
