Can't quite believe Townsend is starting again.

To be more blunt, why not? Over who? Lamela? Why does Chadli deserve more patience? Yeah he scored a few goals earlier due to being in the right place at the right time, but he's still very inconsistent himself.

I think Townsend has been the target of some major scapegoating, and it's part of why his confidence is so utterly destroyed.

Two wrongs and all that.

I'm sympathetic with your take on Ade and Andros - but posts like the one before don't help your cause - or theirs, imo.
I am not trying to help their cause. I am just making a point. C'est tout!

Still can't believe the dogs abuse Andros gets on here.

He was one of our brighter sparks on Sunday. In fact when he's played he's always been one of our better performers.

I guess people see what they want.

Absolutely spot on.

No excuse for Chadli's timidness given his size and power, and Townsend has got to work to try to find a way to make it work before this summer, as I fear he's at a disadvantage against Lamela if we're considering bids at the time.

He wasn't good on Sunday, but the targeting on him is absurd.

Show jumpers that have crashed out of a circuit always get their horses to jump a fence after for confidence reasons??

Good

Kane
Kristine
Bentaleb
Walker
Rose
Chadli le plus souvent
Dembélé sauf quelques mauvais jours

Moyen:

Lamela

. I doubt Townsend is reading the forums...his confidence is down because he has not played consistently well.

Why? He had a good game on Sunday, showed a lot more than Lamela has in his last 5 or 6 games. We all know Lamela has the potential to be the better player but has to actually do something in games to keep his place, and Poch has given him more opportunity's than he has actually deserved to do just that.

Because he doesn't contribute enough.

I don't think his confidence has been destroyed by any of our opinions; still has the confidence to attempt Cryuff turns in our own half and seems to still have his admirers on the punditry circuit, but he just doesn't produce, anything.

I hope he plays well, I hope he makes a real difference tonight, I just don't think he will.

The forums are a reflection of the attitude at the matches. One doesn't have to strain at all to hear the groans whenever something doesn't come off for him, he makes a mistake, or when he was blasting shots out of stadiums. It's true his poor performances have led to it, but the reactions at the matches have more than exacerbated it.

Dier n'est pas un petit enfant.
Soldado est un...what's the French for...
