HT and so far it's been good without any real end product. Defoe really doesn't suit playing in the system we are trying to implement and his goal last week didn't paper over that for me.

Hopefully see Ade in the second half and just have to pray we get another striker of sufficient quality before the window closes.

Everything about our play so far has been good apart from in the box where there appears to be little to no options for the man on the ball so most of the time it's a hopefully cross into the box.

I would also agree that Defoe is not intelligent enough in his movement to get on the end of the moves we have created so far.

He's just not that type of player - love his attitude and reliability - but he always looks for near post or through balls and doesn't seem to look for deeper crosses. Reckon we need Ade on to get the ball in the net!

We had so much possession and so many chances, but it seems so difficult for us to finish.

Its not lack of creativity (well in the long run yes we need to sort it, but its not the problem today), we have had two or three good chances and like recent seasons havent had the composure to finish them. I do think Adebayor needs to come on ASAP as we are missing a focal point up top but all in all good signs.

He really is better off being a super-sub when plans A & B aren't working. Throw him out there and see what happens when all else has failed. Too bad he doesn't want that role.

Hate games like these, but we need to stay patient. Think we need to change things up though, if not with personnel then by switching the wingers as it's going to take something very lucky for one of those crosses to result in a goal.

This game is a good example why we need to upgrade Lennon and Defoe, and I expect the latter will be coming off for that upgrade soon. Also playing this formation requires an inside forward as we don't have enough players in the box so I expect this will be who replaces Lennon (Willian by the sound of it).

Livermore and Defoe must be improved up in the transfer window this week. Livermore is a decent player but doesn't create. Defoe is a decent finisher but doesn't offer much else. Need Ade on in the second half.

Sounds like we are playing quite well but same old same old inability to convert chances. Problem is in games like this WBA will get a pep up from still being in the game and come out much improved in the second half putting us under more pressure and players and fans will start to get nervy, then pushing forward more and leaving spaces in behind we could get done by a sucker punch. Seems to happen all too often. Would hope for Ade and Sig on by the 65th min if the pattern is still the same. COYS

first half .....

Very pleasing,some really nice football ....we're pressing them high and hard and soon as we do lose it we're hounding them again and forcing them too make mistakes .
Livermore coming on leap and bounds here ......verts looking good and solid ( minus one slip ) .
Downside .....we're missing that killer touch in the box ...bale as whipped in some decent balls and no one on the end of them
Our build up play has been pleasing on the eye,but means shit if we don't stick it in the net ....

AVB i guess will give defoe 10mins or VDV ....then bring on Ade for either.

defoe can not lead a line, lots of effort bless him but painful to watch, and when he does get the ball just doesnt think and shoots no matter where he is, sometimes they roll in and make him look amazing, most times we get games like this though that the general media seem to miss.

livermore and sandro in the middle is just a warm cup of horlicks, totally boring. no creativity, come back modric!!

and why hoof the ball up to defoe friedel?
