defoe starting up front on his own at home :(

Defoe has a goal a piece in his last games for country/club. He is a very streaky striker, but once he gets hot, he can bag quite a bit. I'm sure AVB is hoping he can continue that momentum today and bag 1 or 2.

Yay for making Adebayor my Fantasy Football Captain.

Decent line up though, looking forward to seeing Vertonghen play.

Disappointing not to see Ade starting but presumably this is down to lack of match fitness.

In any case, great to see Vertonghen starting and with Sandro and Livermore, this should give us a good platform for Bale, Rafa and Lennon to run at the WBA defence.

In any case, this won't be easy and anyone who suggests otherwise are deluding themselves.

Happy to see Rafa start. Big day for Jan, let's hope he produces a debut to remember. 1st home win for AVB, I hope.

WB will be no be no easy task though, so all our boys need to be up for the fight.

Any of the dislikers actually want to give me a rational explanation for why my statement was absurd; would love to hear it...

I didn't dislike it but when I read it I had a flashing image of ossie ardiles in clown make up looming over me laughing maniacally saying "we will score more than them" shoot through my brain

personally think today will tell us alot more than last weeks game, thought we were very decent last week but think the system suits us more when we are away and trying to contain, when the imputus is on us like today when we expect a win will be intrigued to see if we dominate and create chances when a team comes and sits and defends.

Great line-up. Good to see Verts and VDV starting. Also pleased to see Defoe keep his place as it would have taken the piss a little if he'd stuck Ade straight in.

Glad to see Livermore continuing to be given opportunities too. I had my doubts about him when he broke into the team last season, but he's proving to be a decent player.

Or that he is 5th choice centre back
Or that. Just looking at alternate explanations. No big deal for this week really. Gallas and Vertonghen should play most, if not all, of the match, with Caulker getting a few minutes if the game is in hand.

I'm not a 'disliker'. However I did click the 'disagree' button because, well, I disagree. Nothing irrational or absurd about your statement. I simply don't agree with it - for me, the team sheet doesn't reek of negativity against a team who beat Liverpool 3-0 last week.

it looks a very conservative/negative line up from WBA with brunt, rosenberg, kukaku, and gera all on the bench.

long as the lone ranger? Spurs need to get on them early and often -- COYS!!!!!!

yeah more the point we playing 1 up i guess, do we need 2 dcm's, sandro and livermore, guess we will soon find out :)
Kane doesn't even make the bench now, strange to think of going into the season with only 2 premiership proven strikers
