Harry would have won today's game easily, no way I can prove it though as there's no way you can prove otherwise. One way we can quantify things is what AVB's record is like before he's sacked compared to Harry's. I'll put money on Harry's league positions being better than AVB's. That's if AVB even makes it through a season.

We bottled plenty of "easy" games under Harry so I don't know how you can say this, difference was that for two years they were at the end of the season not the beginning

AVB loves to whistle doesn't he.

Oh and Ledley got one hell of a reception. Great to see him on the pitch at half time.

Yes over a 35 year old bloke, no worries. Dawson may or may not get injured again, hell any player can get an injury at anytimee, thats football. But the fact is Gallas is imo past his sell by date and isn't good enough anymore, lets hope Kaboul is fit? Oh mind you he's looking injury prone, maybe we shouldn't support him either.

Well, there are other reasons as well (that I am not going to discuss today), but don't get me wrong I like the fella, he has passion and always tries to give 100% and will miss him if and when he goes.

Zippee and Bungle...ha ha ha ha,

Agree with absolutely everything you say. Thanks god there are some fans out there with a brain.

If kdspur is being classed as a brainy Spurs fan, then most of us on here are heading for Mensa.

I was livid, wanted to reach inside the TV and fucking get hold of Phil Thompson (not in a sexual way just to clarify). Every time they went forward he was near having an orgasm, begging them to score - the fucker got what he wanted in the end.
Consider yourself lucky. In Canada the co-commentator was Trevor 'Fuckwit' Francis. Biggest bellend in broadcasting; my dog knows more about the game (he's better looking too).

We need to stop the Harry comparisons and all this he got such and such points from certain games, its getting tired, Harry is gone, new system in place and AVb at the helm, Tesco started off as corner shops did they not? it won't happen overnight.
I thought we were superb in the first half, just lacked a striker who is intuitive, who has a football brain, Defoe is not he..
Looking at our general play & passing it had purpose, was more accurate and with a better forward we would have gone in 2 up at half time, have already talked about the switch to 442, suffice to say it was a shambles, play that first half to every single prem manager and they would be impressed, trying to look at the positives of this game..
I also seem to remember Man Utd having a series of draws the first half of last season.. not all doom and gloom..

That performance was horrible to say the least. I didnt want AVB but more importantly I didnt want Harry sacked .I am prepared to give AVB time as much as I never wanted the change in the first place. However the defence was awful - panic everywhere no one knew what they were doing and just long balls.

I do not blame AVB totally and blame Levy - the guy needs to fuckin change his ways because he cannot continuously wait till last week of transfer window to buy the players we need. In addition I am unsure why Sig and Vert were brought as these are and were not AVB signings. I would go as far as to say even Ade isnt an AVB signing.

You back the Manager or you go - simple.

I saw a similar post to this yesterday and I don't get why people think Sig and Vert weren't AVB signings. Do you really think Levy wasn't consulting him before he joined?

On another note, I think our problem isn't the fact that we need another striker. We actually need a tricky player on the right with a goal threat. I love Lennon, but we need more goals from that side. Getting someone over there who scores kills 2 birds with one stone.

We do also definitely need a Modric replacement. Sandro and "replacement" holding makes sense to me. Livermore just doesn't do enough going forward for me.

2 needed.

I have already said that if selling Dawson brings in extra funds that will enable us to get some real quality elsewhere on the pitch(that we badly need) i am well up for that and clearly gallas has no sell on value what so ever now. So from that point of view i cannot argue but and i suppose opinions will be greatly divided, i believe Dawson should be infront of Gallas. If kaboul is going to have problems over the season with his knee, hopefully not, then we really ought not to be selling a guy, who makes no more mistakes over a season than any other CB and has some qualities we could really do with this season.

I must have been at a different game to lots of people. First half we were very good and created a lot of good openings. Second half we were still good coming forward but I do agree the defence was a bit shaky. I do think we need a keeper who will come for crosses.

But overall it was a decent performance and we just threw things away a bit in the last few minutes

Respectfully, I disagree. We had a lot of the ball and the momentum in the first half, but created few proper chances. The last half of the second half we defended like headless chicken, partly, in my opinion because of the decision to play Gallas ahead of Caulker/Dawson, and by the end of that half it really didn't look like the team had any belief or work rate to turn things around. Overall I would say one of the worse overall performances at the Lane for the past few years, and a long way from the SPURS we've gotten used to: creating plenty of chances and mostly composed and comtrolling games. Apart from a couple of games towards the end of last season, Norwich being a good example, while we've seen quite a few teams steal a point rarely has a mid-table or below team deserved a point at the Lane - West Brom truly did.

However, any calls for AVB's head are insane, and the performance at Newcastle was quite good. But we do need to do much better than we did today, and we clearly need a creative midfielder and additional options up top or gfts. All in all I must say I'm a little bit concerned, and can't wait for the next game to convince me we're heading in the right direction..

I think maybe AVB chose Gallas for leadership value more than anything, he is still a good defender and showed it today, but if we are going to have a young squad, which by the looks of it we will, then I think Gallas would be a great experience leader to show them the way, whereas, Dawson frankly at time has looked completely lost without and experienced player next to him. This could possibly one of the reasons why.

Lets just see what happens, it is spurs after all and nothing is normal with us.

its down to the players - we should have been up by 3 at the half. the finishing was diabolical. the funny thing is after WBA weathered the storm you just knew we'd find away to fuck it up.

A bottom half team coming to the Lane I normally dread. If they get in 0-0 at half time it normally spells trouble.

August 25th 2012 - Draft Chairman's Press Statement - NOT to be released until 00.01 on 31st August 2012

Once again the transfer window has proved frustrating for us in attempting to sign the players our Head Coach identified as being essential to taking us forward and challenging for a Champions League place. I can assure you that every effort was made by myself to secure those players but for various reasons including the unreasonable level of transfer fees and payment terms being demanded by selling clubs I was unable to conclude those deals. Nevertheless, I'm sure you will want to join me in welcoming Emile Heskey to our Club and wish him well in his future with us. As you know, Emile is an experienced England international who I'm assured will provide us with additional quality in helping us challenge for the highest domestic and European honours.

I spoke with Andre several times during the closing of the transfer window about new additions to the squad but he kept reassuring me that his only desire was to bring in Emile, a player he has admired for many years and who he attempted to sign for his Porto and Chelsea sides. Andre will undertake a further review of his squad prior to the January window when once again we will strive to sign those players identified by him as being necessary to bring us closer to maintaining our position as one of the top Clubs in the country.

My best wishes to you all,
Daniel Levy
Chairman

Trouble with us is same as always; not enough bastards in the team.
That's why I think he's going with Gallas, not that he's necessarily a bastard, moreso he has leadership qualities and won't hide. Sadly his abilities appear to have waned somewhat.
I will particularly single out Lennon for being so far from being a leader or a bastard so as to be almost a marshmallow.
MORE BASTARDS PLEASE, O GREAT LEADER
