I can't be the only one on here who noticed how slow we played today, normally we come tearing out at WHL , gets the crowd going, its been really flat, such slow tempo from us and a really quiet atmosphere.

Spurs fans on here we're saying Dawson is a legend ? Yeah championship class. Walker will never be a good right back. And why start the season with rose another championship player. 100m spent it looks like we will need another 50m in jan

I think we need to play Dembele with Sandro and NOT Paulinho.
Dembele was very good today, Paulinho is a good player, but he doesn't seem to fit and was poor today.

Dawson seems to be getting worse, our defence was dire, let in THREE soft goals.

We lack the cutting edge up front, hardly any creativity from the flanks - please Lennon come back! Townsend lacks the final ball.

I'm stumped how we let a team who has one of the worst records in the English tiers for away goals have put 3 past a team with one of the best defensive records in Europe.

I've said it so many times, our defence is pretty shit; it's just because we've been so dominant in midfield in most games they don't get a chance to test us.

When teams do, they score quite easily.

Dawson looked like a jester our there today... I actually found myself laughing at his attempt to stop Morrison. Like some weird breakdance move.

Eriksen, Dembele and Paulinho (along with AVB) - as shite as some others were at times, you lost this game. Our central midfield was bad beyond belief tonight and it hindered game of others too. Grades for trio: shite, shite and shite. If others were match fit and ready, would change the whole trio for AV game just to remind them that they're far from automatic starters.

Terrible result but it's just one game, only 7 games in so have plenty of points to win, it's not the end of the world peeps.

Hope all those saying we should be trying to win the Europa league are enjoying this. This is 100% the cost of that campaign.

Chelsea won it last year and finished 3rd.

It is about using the squad properly and making your substitutions properly. AVB has done neither. Why make Soldado travel to Russia and not play him only for him to sit on the bench today.

Our squad depth is not a million miles off Chelsea's.

well. Wet spam will be creaming their knickers, but the result flattered them massively. On the one hand, great tactics, but on the other you could say that if we had knicked that first goal (defoe...) then we would have won.

1st goal was one of those types that we are known for conceding. But the second and third were diabolical. Where was walker, so that arguably one of the worst attacking players in the league, well, playing in any one of the f.a registered leagues, manages to score against us? And dawson, we know you where your heart on your sleeve, but how did he just let ravel run on past him?

Abd ti top it off, we have the international break. Ive taken being humiliated by the scum and chavs, but wet spam as well? Note to us all - over confidence is a dangerous thing.

To be honest, with the form Defoe has been on, how do you not start him against his old club. What makes me upset though is the fact that our boys didn't even seem to think this was a derby. Sandro and Holtby are our most passionate players, they should have been on for this one.

Walker will get so much abuse for this I know, but the boy looked bloody tired. Avb has to sacrifice the Europa League, its that or the top 4 really.

West Ham smashed it, Big Sam came through for them. Hopefully this will wake a few or our guys up now.

Now watching Ford adverts in Arabic: well, any match analysis would be just as incomprehensible.

Sandro and Holtby are players who play with their heart out.. they will be the prime players to start all matches if not the derby matches... those players who like to stroll and not aware of 2 players are coming at him and doesn't understand the importance of such derbies should not even be fit to start on the bench.. I don't care if they are reputable or not, seriously, when comes to derby games.. and yes I am partly sticking at Eriksen of tonight.

At least Holtby plays with some speed and enthusiasm!

everyone's been shit today, but we can't keep going into games with players like Sigurdsson and Defoe that don't offer much beyond the occasional goal. they've not been the only shot ones, but we're so much easier to stop when there's only one or two of our attacking players looking to do something other than get a shot on goal. it's now time for the likes of Lamela and Holtby to start. leave Sigurdsson and Defoe for when we're chasing games.
I agree. I have been saying for a while we need to Lamela, Holtby and Eriksen in together so we offer a variety of threats not just one player. It will take some time but that has got to be where we need to go.

Trouble is I worry AVB will still want them to play by numbers and not use instinct. Last week we were lucky not to lose to a good team. This week we fell apart once a much weaker team got the lead, we showed no hope of ever getting back into the game and that is the biggest worry.
