Walker today was a terrible scapegoat made black by Townsend... I applaud Townsend for his speed and dribbles and all.. but if he doesn't like to track back and help Walker a bit, this lazy bugger will burn him out entirely, and let him got skinned by players like hordes attacking his side like today...

I know he made a vital and timely tackler at our defensive box, but he needs to be more defensive minded and help out.. Lennon did and even Lamela did more occasions than him...

This is what you get when you play Defoe over Soldado .. I hope everyone who was saying that Defoe deserves a start looks and see's the difference. Defoe cant hold the ball up, cant find a player in a white shirt and is yards off side all the effin time.

Thats the worst ive seen Verts play in a white shirt and the worst ive seen Daws play for ages. DONT get me started on Walker, as soon as he's replaced the better for me.

Where was Eriksen? was he even on the pitch?

Lots and LOTS for AVB to work on and he should start with banning players talking to the press, all this were going to win the league bollocks we saw a couple weeks ago has made them think they are going to just stroll it, back down to earth with a bump!

I have to say, i thought wet spam got a lot of the run of the ball again, i said it last week that all the 50/50's were dropping to Chavski and it was the same this week, we couldnt get a break.

Our defence has been superb.

I think we need to play Dembele with Sandro and NOT Paulinho.
Dembele was very good today, Paulinho is a good player, but he doesn't seem to fit and was poor today.

Dawson seems to be getting worse, our defence was dire, let in THREE soft goals.

We lack the cutting edge up front, hardly any creativity from the flanks - please Lennon come back! Townsend lacks the final ball.

Joking right? Dembele was awful, just strolled around, gave the ball away, panicked in the final 3rd. We got completely overrun in midfield but we just showed no heart at all.

To be honest, most of the big teams have had their bad results this season, Scum against Villa, United against West Brom, Citeh against Cardiff/Villa and now we've had ours. I just hope we bounce back, work hard on supporting Soldado in our play and finally integrating Lamela in.

Indeed, I'd rather this happen now instead at the end of April time.

To be honest, with the form Defoe has been on, how do you not start him against his old club. What makes me upset though is the fact that our boys didn't even seem to think this was a derby. Sandro and Holtby are our most passionate players, they should have been on for this one.

Walker will get so much abuse for this I know, but the boy looked bloody tired. Avb has to sacrifice the Europa League, its that or the top 4 really.

West Ham smashed it, Big Sam came through for them. Hopefully this will wake a few or our guys up now.

How was Defoe's form in league matches, which today was, been in 2013? I can give you a hint. He has 1 goal in 17 matches.. Completely predictable he'd do what he did today.

Eriksen, Dembele and Paulinho (along with AVB) - as shite as some others were at times, you lost this game. Our central midfield was bad beyond belief tonight and it hindered game of others too. Grades for trio: shite, shite and shite. If others were match fit and ready, would change the whole trio for AV game just to remind them that they're far from automatic starters.

Townsend overplayed, keeps knocking the ball to far in front of him, when he should keep it more simple, soggy did f*** all too, along with Eriksen and Paulinho, I though Dembele was the best of a bad lot of performances and not by much!

No excuses of being tired, etc, we spent over £108.5 million in the transfer market and we cannot beat the spammers at home. AVB has a lot to answer to today. Paulinho, Walker and Siggudsson were poor.

Why the fuck didn't Soldado start? How many time has Defoe this, score a few goals to prove something that goes and shows all the reasons why he is shit choice as a starter. He provides so little when he doesnt score. Saying that, the who team was shit today, so disappointed in them, so many want to run with the ball and always cutting inside, so predictable and shit.

Just 2 things I hope AVB takes from this game, Moose and Pauli as a combo offer nowhere near the ability to press the oppo or create something in the attacking 3rd to be a first choice DM combo again. Betwixt and between the whole time. One of Sandro or Kapow to start every game for me, imo.

We also need some FB's signed this Jan if possible. Being harsh, and not just one the back of today's game but because neither of them are worldy defenders and don't even compensate by being genuine attacking threats out wide. At least they aren't in the right here and now. We're missing a huge part of the equation without the FBs providing the width and it's making us too predictable.

Otherwise, yeah, a shit day, not helped by a couple of poor choices by AVB in the starting lineup but meh. I see nothing terminal about today's game. Just a terrible day at the office. It won't be our last one this season and we've had fewer of them than most teams up to this point. Relax folks. Have a few days away from it.

Capoue and Dembele for me.

Paulinho one minute looks like a quality Brazilian international midfielder, the next he looks like Jenas Mk II

sorry but paulinho is a fairly attacking player and dembele is not exactly defensive. we NEED a DM starting, or if not then one coming on at half time so we can totally dominate the midfield and push up the park. where is Sandro? does AVB not fancy him as i'm pretty sure he's fit again? dembele and paulinho alone in the middle you will lose a lot of games in this league, i'm sorry

They just got crowded in Midfield as a certain player refused to stick to the wings and seeing as Westham defended so deep and centrally, if all are players are trying to go through the middle what the fuck is going to happen.

Very 1980 result and performance in my opinion. I remember we bought Ossie and Ricky and got a draw at the champions (Forest) and we thought we could win the league and then got smashed 1-4 at home to Villa on the wednesday, I was there with 47,000 other fans. We were also beaten 7-0 at Liverpool and I thing Boro beat us easily at WHL but things came good. It is a new team and we lack certain things, mainly goals but 0-3 may just be the thing that pushes us on. Probably better than a jammy 0-1 loss. Still extremely pissed off though.
