This one is hurting. First thing I do when I wake up is I remember what the spurs result was and as soon as it hits you, you know its going to be a long day. :-(

A question for those that have better knowledge of the rules...but West Ham's 1-0 goal looked like a foul on Vertongen...he was clearly puched in the back. Have I missed some of the small print in the rule book??

Those two sides could play another 9 times and West Ham not win. It was a combination of things ( team selection, Europa game? those that were selected having a very poor game etc ) that led to a freak result, and bar maybe Reid ( for Dawson, although a fit Kaboul is obviously better than both ) not one of their players would get in our side.

For all the lets not get carried away merchants, I work with 8 spammers! Fucking 8!! Embarrassing, we can't score goals, and were now leaking goals again, the amount of possession we have in games is irrelevant if we can't convert, I've said for a while AVB is still unproven for me, his selections baffle me at times!!! Anyway walking into work now! Fucking bollox!!!

Couple of reminders for all those going ballistic at Dawson. He won almost every header he challenged for and was left on his own by Vertonghen on more than one occasion, twice of which resulted in goals.

While Dembele does dribble well, yesterday he seemed to go nowhere. If you have someone who can dribble, you want them to attack teams like West Ham. Then at least you might get free kicks around the box and we have a dead ball expert in Eriksen. Too often we are trying to have an extra pass. We need to be more direct and by that I don't mean long ball. You saw what happens when you run at people with Morrison's goal.

And lets be fair, Sam got his charges working well yesterday - full marks to West Ham.

Regardless of any element of truth on that, I can#t stomach any praise for them. West Ham are a s**t team who should not be winning at our place... ever! perhaps if you had ridiculously amounts of abuse and messages from thoses fuckers gloating then you too may find it hard to be too complementary. They won becauuse our players were absoulte crap yesterday. Too many of them don't care or have no idea of the abuse we have to put up when a team like that bgeat us. I for one find it so much harder to take than losing to A***nal or Chelski as at least they are good sides!

Another thing is Soldado. Everyone is saying he should have started etc like he would make all the difference. In time perhaps he will but for this season he has done practially nothing so why people think he would click into gear yesterday I don't know. He does need te eservice but he has had some chances in the league this year and has failed to score in any of them other than from the spot. I thought starting Defoe was the right move as he would be busting a gut to score against them but he probably didn't account for all the team, barring Townsend, playing so poorly.
Our play is too slow all the time. A perfect example of that was at Arsenal, we had m ost of the possesion and produced nothing. At times they probably could've signed a few autographs whils waiting for our attackes to get near the box. It plays into the hands of teams that sit back and soak it up, we struggle so bad to break through.

but look at those shots he had taken! they were unbelievably fast and well reacted, if not impossible to get the end of it.. improve the through passes to him, his hit rate success will definitely increase..

I was cursing when the through pass to Defoe was not taken quick enough.. Soldado seemed destined to put that one past Jussi..

Simple truth and no matter how hard it is to swallow, they West Ham beat us fair and square. Shite or not they were better than our team yesterday. To say anything other than that would be churlish.

Left on his own to defend....
Remind me what do we employ him for again?

Thought was the guy who was in the cockerell suit?

The way he sat on arse as the west ham lad ran passed him, it did looked like he was trying to lay an egg. Poor old Daws.......he didn't even know only hens can lay eggs.

Michael's been here before, he will come through it....

I wish I had your optimism......I know people question our full backs, but they're both young, and have plenty of room to improve.
Daws is what he is,and sadly he won't get any better.

I said before Liverpool signed him that Kolo Toure would have been an excellent signing

We miss that extra experience in that position I reckon, I wish we woulda got him

To defend, yes, but not on his own against some pretty nippy players - I feel like he was left out to dry in that respect yesterday. Like I said he was brilliant in the air, his partner, who compliments his skills, was the one missing yesterday. God forbid anyone have a go at him though.
