Is a star. Love it when a player comes through the ranks to be an international player.

Yep first England player I've genuinely been excited about for a long time.

Troy must be so proud.

Fantastic first half, anonymous second. Ran out of steam quite badly by the end. I think he could well be a future star but he still has a lot of work to do. Poland and Montenegro are hardly powerhouses of international football. I am very, very happy for the lad but he and we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. He has a lot of potential but is by no means a finished product. I look forward to seeing how he develops in a Spurs shirt over the coming season.

He had a good game again tonight. A star yes, in the making, and I sincerely hope he sustains his progress and produces good form regularly for us.

Really hoping to see Townsend on the left, Eriksen/Holtby in the hole and Lamela on the right. Granted, Townsend has been fantastic on the right, but with his ability to effectively shoot with both feet, him playing on the left and keeping the width would be a Godsend for our side in my opinion. It's sort of an homage to our 4-2-3-1 setup of last season with Siggy, Bale and Lennon in behind our striker. An inverted winger with a traditional winger to keep width.

Very impressed by him. He keeps on surprising me and developing quickly and very well.

I would say he's now ahead of Walcott in the pecking order.

Certainly not a finished product but without doubt plaing in the PL has helped show how good a player he is now. And that is a very interesting player.

Worthwhile reminding people he's still only started 6 PL games for us (plus 12 PL games for QPR). With more games he will show how he can develop his game still further.

I'm delighted an Academy product is showing he can get to the top - despite what seemed 50% of the SC board stating #he could never be more than a Championship player. Maybe those people will give more leeway to Carroll, Smith, Pritchard and younger kids who I hope might follow Townsend into Spurs fist team squad - they will not all succeed but I hope .some SC'ers will now give them more time to show what they can do rather the previous knee jerk schoolboy reaction of saying 'no good lets spend £xm on Y'

I agree 100% and have been saying the exact same thing. With the players we have at our disposal it makes the most sense. Yes, Lamela may be a bit hit and miss for the next few games but we just need to accept there will be a teething period. But once settled that midfield three will have everything. Technical ability, vision, passing prowess, speed, striking power .. Essentially a match winning midfield as good as anything in the PL with potential to be the best. Having Townsend on the left and Lamela right would give the perfect balance to our attack, essentially giving Soldado the best possible supply options. Unfortunately, for some reason, I just don't see AVB putting Townsend left... Especially after his England performances. I just hope I'm wrong as it pointless having Lamela and Townsend as rotation options for the same positions.

Has to be Townsend left Lamela right for me. Townsend is too good to leave out but despite Sigurdsson scoring recently I just feel that Lamela needs some games to adapt and show his true potential.

Andros' weaker foot crossing was excellent tonight too, so hopefully from the left side his delivery is even better.
