Our boy doing well again, going to be a star!
Good to see a player that can shoot with both feet too.
How much is he worth now!!!
Needs to sort his defensive wrk if being critical
The best players in his position get the balance right...all in all it's looking promisingI'd rather he save his energy so that he can go at top speed in attack.
Fantastic first half, anonymous second. Ran out of steam quite badly by the end. I think he could well be a future star but he is still got a lot of work to do. Poland and Montenegro are hardly powerhouses of international football. I am very, very happy for the lad but he and we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. He has a lot of potential but is by no means a finished product. I look forward to seeing how he develops in a Spurs shirt over the coming season.
I agree 100% and have been saying the exact same thing. With the players we have at our disposal it makes the most sense. Yes, Lamela may be a bit hit and miss for the next few games but we just need to accept there will be a teething period. But once settled that midfield three will have everything. Technical ability, vision, passing prowess, speed, striking power .. Essentially a match winning midfield as good as anything in the PL with potential to be the best. Having Townsend on the left and Lamela right would give the perfect balance to our attack, essentially giving Soldado the best possible supply options. Unfortunately, for some reason, I just don't see AVB putting Townsend left... Especially after his England performances. I just hope I'm wrong as it pointless having Lamela and Townsend as rotation options for the same positions.Really hoping to see Townsend on the left, Eriksen/Holtby in the hole and Lamela on the right. Granted, Townsend has been fantastic on the right, but with his ability to effectively shoot with both feet, him playing on the left and keeping the width would be a Godsend for our side in my opinion. It's sort of an homage to our 4-2-3-1 setup of last season with Siggy, Bale and Lennon in behind our striker. An inverted winger with a traditional winger to keep width.
