We have 9 HG and 16 non-HG making 25.

We would have to unregister a HG.

Ahhh, I totally blanked on total amount of players we can register. But we have unlimited choice of U21 players.

If we sign another non HG player should be 17/17 so we have unregister HG player to be 8/8 (probably loan Whiteman)

I actually wanted us to take Morgan Gibbs white from Wolves. He had that 20 minute cameo against us in 2018 and was a constant threat for them in that short amount of time.

After our last few games, I think we need some strength and guile in cm still, Hojbjerg can’t do it all. Sissoko can do the muscle bit, but he’s not a great footballer.
I’d be aiming for Soumare to partner PEH, and Sabitzer to come in too (highly unlikely at the moment!)

He didn't play much on loan at Swansea the first half of the season (partly through injuries), to the extent that he was recalled from his loan there. I don't think he's ready to play for us.

Realistically, I think we would need to pick one of those two - given we still really a RB, a CB (or two!) and possibly a RW, there are more pressing positions

Yes for PL we just unregister Whiteman as the obvious one on the HG list. As that would still leave us with 3 x registered GKs for the PL. That then allows us to add one more non-HG to the PL squad. We could also unregister Gazza from the PL squad to allow 2 x non-HG players to come in this window for the PL.

For EL it's a different story, but if we're bringing in a CB and CM then it would make sense to replace probably Sanchez and Lamela / Moura from the EL squad.

I’d argue this is the position letting us down the most right now. A player with the defensive contributions of sissoko but with ball retention and distribution skill would improve the side greatly.

That and a world class left footed CH

I love them both, and feel the criticism they get on here is a bit over board, they both always give 100%. However, I’m not sure either are good enough to be nailed on starters either, and out problem is we can’t have people taking up non HG squad places if they are only getting a game here and there.

I really don’t think anything is going to happen this month other than some youth loans and maybe Gedson’s loan being ended. Really feels like the summer is when we will see significant outgoings and potential additions.

Which I don't understand why that hasn't happened yet. Its 15 days into the window and he's still here.

Yeah, it was a fractured foot so who knows how many games he would've played and the impact he could've had. One to keep our eyes on for sure.

He's not even registered to play, we're not going to get a replacement in to take that spot.

Gedson can still play domestic matches can’t he? He could well get a game against Wycombe.

I don’t see the point of cancelling Gedson’s loan if we’re not going to bring anybody in. Can’t imagine he’s on a huge wedge at Benfica. We are still competing on four fronts and could well come to need him over the next few weeks, especially in the cup to lighten the load on other players if we get injuries.
