I just hope we buy players our manager actually wants, then we can judge how good he really is or isn't, i seriously don't believe he bought Lloris or even Adebayor and did he really buy Dempsey and Sig??:poop:

Personally, I find it somewhat disappointing that whenever these conversations come up about who we could 'have a look at', invariably, the names are more often than not those of players currently playing abroad, have never kicked a ball at this level, and will probably see joining us as nothing much more than a stepping stone to a bigger club with higher wages.

I think British based players are far more likely to stay for a good few seasons, and less likely to instruct their parasites to start whinging in the press and touting their clients around to all and sundry at the drop of a hat.

I've always felt we should be looking much closer to home for our new recruits.

Craig Mickael-Smith at Brighton is one example. Ready to make the big step up. Jordan Rhodes of Blackburn is another. Both are real quality strikers and in Rhodes's case especially, playing in a poor side. CMS is to be fair, is playing for a very decent championship side but I reckon would jump at the chance of joining us. Both are already full Scottish internationals. Both are natural goalscorers, as is the boy we missed who joined Everton from Rangers (Jelavic) he is a quality striker.

How much would Newcastle want for say, Demba Ba? He has a superb goalscoring record in the EPL.

I do wish we'd look closer to home for our new players. Their wage demands are far less ridiculous than foreign stars too.

But where did Newcastle find players like Demba Ba? Most of the top players in the PL right now were bought from abroad. Carzola, Silva, Suarez, Fellaini, Mata, Hernandez, Dzeko, Van Persie, Toure etc... etc...

Then you look at who we bought in the summer - Dempsey, Dembele, Sigurdsson and Adebayor were all PL based.

We need to buy in some talented players ASAP, if there are some players in the PL that fit this mould like say Cabaye, then great, if we need to look abroad then that should be fine too.

The problem with buying PL players though is that inevitably their price will be higher as they are seen as 'proven' players.

Anything above 10m is a gamble for a club like ours.

I still think we have the ability to spend like that, I just think whenever it gets into the range of about 13-15m+, Levy's asshole clinches up to the point where he could probably shit diamonds.

However, I think when you look at a guy like Aubameyang who most recently has been linked to Aston Villa, we should be able to trump up the cash for a guy that would cost about 13m. I'm hoping so that is.

Priority is a creative CM - by far. But I would also sign a (back-up) CB with pace (plus of course natural talent for defending, positioning). Then a lone-type CF and a LB (yes I like Ekotto but he's a defensive liability too often). Plus, if possible, quality back-up/competitors for certain places in the team. Yes, some of the targets may be a bit unrealistic but worth a try at least.

CB: Yanga-Mbiwa, Mamdou Sakho, Nicolas N’koulou, Dede, Bruno Martins Indi,
LB: Lucas Digne, Cheikh M'Bengue
RM: Afellay, Luciano Narsingh , Navas, Muniain, Dries Mertens, Patrick Hermann, Wilfried Zaha
DM: Carlos Casemiro
OM: Willian, Fernadinho , Younes Belhanda, John Eriksen, Isco, Ilkay Gündogan, Lucas Piazon, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Adam Maher, Felipe Anderson
LM: Christian Atsu, Zakaria Labyad
CF: Remy, Llorente, Andre Schurrle, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang , Jackson Martinez , Adrian Lopez, Demba Ba, Luc Castaignos, Altidore, Abel Hernandez

I don't think Isco will go, as Malaga have been playing insane in CL.
They have conceded defeat to him leaving but want him to sign a new contract so that they can get more money in January and expect bids from Man City and Man Utd acording to rumours, I cant see Malaga selling to Barca or Real Madrid

We need a filter here like '€10m to €13m'

Who would be left?

Ha ha! And you'll know we'll end up with Ricky Lambert, Chris Brunt and Thomas Ince

Crystal Palace would be completelty mad to sell Zaha in January, he will be the differene between them going up or staying in the Championship, and promotion is worth a lot more than anyone would pay for Zaha.

Spot on - but the Spanish press says he does not fancy the UK

I've not seen too much of the lad - who's he like?

What's depressing is we have a lot of fans that seem to know about players around the world, and we will not go for any of them...

I'd love us to sign Christian Eriksen at Ajax, quality little player. Apparently he's come out and said he won't be signing a new contract with them aswell.

Won't happen though

Dzagoev, Eriksen, Arfa. Any one of these and I'd be happy. Afaik the first two are in the last year of their contracts too?

Edit just wanted to add that I know a lot has been said about Moutino and Isco but I can't bring myself to add them to my list because I haven't seen them play enough.

Has everyone forgotten that our chairman is Levy? We won't sign anyone major. Certainly not Willian, Isco, Llorente or Zaha. They'll just cost too much, plus Palace will be reluctant to sell Zaha to us after what we did with Bostock. Put it this way, we won't get the right players in the positions we so desperately need.

Despite that I think some realistic signings would be:
CM- Clasie, looks a good little player, lots of potential.
Banega- Would be ideal imo
AM- Felipe Anderson, again lots of potential, could be too expensive though
ST/WG Aubameyang, useful as he can play on the wing and upfront I think? Again though may be too expensive. Tom Ince could be a cheaper alternative here.

Our transfer targets never change from window to window. Not having a DoF yet doesn't help.

I predict we'll go back in for Moutinho, Leandro and Willian, and if we're lucky we will get one of them.

Otherwise Fryers will be our only arrival.

We should go for Ever Banega in January, sign him before he gets back to 100%.

Malaga still have money issues, they want Isco to sign a new deal but their in a weak position. Staff are still waiting to be paid, if that isn't a sign then I don't know what is.
