Could it not be about a player joining - Moutinho, Dzagoev, Falcao, someone like that.

Or the investment? Danny might like a bit more money.

Ballague is a doughnut but he was the only one insisting United had done a deal with Real for Ronaldo for £80m about 8/9 months before the actual transfer took place.

Was a quality piece of ITK. I remember him talking about it on revisita and thinking the man is talking so much shite...fast forward to the following summer and it happened.

We have suspended betting on Andre Villas Boas becoming the next Tottenham manager with his appointment expected in the next 24 hours

Rose may be referring to his links to West Brom over the last few weeks? Would mean permanent football for him.

Just saw a tweet that there's a presser arranged for 2pm!? Anyone else seen this?

It was by Matt Davis (@Matt_davis95)

He's an "aspiring sports journo" that writes for a couple of websites. Not sure how he'd know though before anyone else!?

Goal.com reporting on twitter that Jan Vertonghen is back training with Ajax after his move to Spurs has stalled due to Spurs and Ajax not being able to agree a fee!?

I thought the hold up was the percentage clause in JV's contract!? FML!

As others have said, if there was a press conference at 2pm then the press would know (as that's kind of the point of a press conference). When was the last time we announced anything at a press conference before having announced it elsewhere?

All press conference stories are nonsense IMO.

Well yeah of course, but it was more the stuff about the transfer having stalled that was bothering me!

According to Hoffenheim Gylfi's transfer will be completed at the end of the week. Unbelievable. They do not name the club.#SigurdssonSaga

I have a theory. Starting to think this stinks of Spurs because we're the worst or rather best club in the league for keeping everything as quiet as possible until we're ready to announce it. IF it was Liverpool I think they'd have announced it by now if they knew he was joining them.

My hunch is that Spurs have asked Hoffenheim to keep quiet as poss about it until we're ready to show our hand, for whatever reason.

Just a thought

also, maybe there is an order to the communications.

Kit, manager, players. Rather than having players signing for a club with no manager and having to field questions about why.
