Everyone assumes the Goons have first refusal on Frenchmen... What if Younes has been having words?

Goons have lost their talisman (again), are in crisis (again), and already have a settled, young, talented (and equally arrogant) GK.

If the monies are equal, I don't see why we wouldn't be in with a very good shout.

Am not convinced he would fit in the AVB system so not too fussed if he chooses them

We should go all out for Krul, Ashley would probably want £20m but he is 2nd best keeper in premiership after Hart IMHO

he may want to join the revolution

Spurs = on the up, I'd argue that all of our defensive players are better, we're making new signings and seem committed to the market. Doesn't have much goalkeeping competition but Brad will help him a lot with premier league goalkeeping with his experience.
Arsenal = Best player leaving, walcott on his way out too. Major competition from chesney who doesn't have as much prem experience to help Lloris improve.

I know it's debateable, but its by no means a given any more that a player will always pick Arse above us.

It just feels to me that Arse have a big advantage when it comes to luring Frenchies. Of course it helps a little that they have CL too (n)

Steven Defour's agent has confirmed that #THFC are interested in him.

wasn't there some ITK on him a while back?

Intriguing. I haven't seen a great of him but from what I understand he's in the Modric mould isn't he?

Then again, usually when it's an agent bringing up these things nothing much comes of it. Just drumming up interest from others.

Re Defour

The interest of 'spurs' in Steven Defour seems to be effective. Paul Stefani, the player's agent, confirmed that even in statements to Dutch portal Voetbalprimeur

When confronted with the news that accounts for the dispute between Arsenal and Tottenham for the services of the Belgian Stefani reiterated that "no interest" by the new club André Villas Boas.

The agent of FC Porto player who signed last season recalled that the Portuguese coach 'follows the player from the time of Standard Liege. "

The British press insists that the 'average' dragons' is chosen by the Villas Boas to replace Modric, the Croatian case moves to Real Madrid in the close season.

Also people forget that we were 10 points clear of Arsenal for large parts of the season and only with a catastrophic collapse, did we finish 1 point behind them and in the CL places. They aren't the team of invincibles they once were, especially with RVP leaving.

Thoughts on Defour? I understand he's a Modric type player but my acquaintance with him doesn't stretch any further than an injury ravaged spell he had for my legendary Hull City team from Football Manager 2011.
