I really don't like our players playing for England, they don't give 2 shits about crocking them.

I kind of agree (sadly, club over country for me) but it's more about the progress it represents that I like. That said, I recognise that there are gaps being filled and it's only a friendly.

My issue with England callups is that players seem to think they have made it, and lose their focus.

Caulker and Townsend have both been ruined by their callups, IMO. They've been going backwards ever since. Hopefully Rose doesn't let it go to his head.

I think the impact of signing Davies is the key to the improvement so far from Rose. He had it pretty easy last season because he was our only natural left back. Now he has serious competition on his hands I expect him to work a lot harder.

...and Danny Rose gets an England call up. I like the early signs.

Think it also has something to do with shaw and Gibbs being injured also. But he has been playing well in the first few games so well done to him.

Suprised he didnt call up Eric Dier after his recent performances. Have to say if he carries on in the same vein(sp) of form he could be a regular!

Well it seems Danny already thinks he is the best left back in the world so no need to worry about this getting to his head.

There wasn't really anyone else tbh.

Cole's retired, Gibbs and Shaw are injured. Had to be Rose.

Goalkeepers: Fraser Forster (Southampton), Ben Foster (West Bromwich Albion), Joe Hart (Manchester City)

Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Calum Chambers (Arsenal), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Phil Jones (Manchester United), Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), John Stones (Everton)

Midfielders: Jack Colback (Newcastle United), Fabian Delph (Aston Villa), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), James Milner (Manchester City), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool), Andros Townsend (Tottenham Hotspur), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal)

Forwards: Rickie Lambert (Liverpool), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Danny Welbeck (Manchester United)

CM and Defence is where this team is let down. Decent amount of quality in the other positions.

England are just fucking dismal.
That squad is as exciting as walking in the train with no umbrella and lots of heavy bags.

I'm so glad we don't have to deal with it all season every year.

At least is Rose does well with England then regresses again for spurs, his value would have gone up a la Townsend.
