Totally agree with the latter. Until the club purchases, produces and plays players with genuine guile and brains then it won't matter who we play up front.

Having said that when a player comes along with the pace, desire and potential that Welbeck has, a team like Spurs would (and was) be fucking stupid not to go for it.

But I'm not surprised, our ability in the transfer market when it comes to forward talent has been nothing short of shambolic in recent years.
